Not sure if thats what they are called, but it sounds like an accurate description. I want to remove the two outside rails. Anyone know a source on these?
When I did mine on a previous wagon I just left the openings there.
My plan was to find a strip like used on today's cars that would fill in the gap.
A member over at ISSf had a a good idea about not filling them completely and leaving a narrow gap that goes with the gap in the doors. Would look much better than a large solid area.

The welding looks good,but I agree the wide gap could be improved. Actually...I'm really liking the welded look. Hmmmm...Thanks guys.
