I know it's not correct, but I polished and waxed the 93 Roady roof rail I snagged at the salvage yard today and swapped it onto the '92 OCC just now. The original Olds solid black bar is PERFECT, and will be stashed away.

My rationalization, other than the fact that I like chrome, is that if I load the X-Cargo roof carrier on there for a Dallas family trip, I could risk scratching the perfect stock Olds black rail... Rolling Eyes

.......and I like the chrome....shiny is good. Laughing

I did that for a while, but it did not look right on the OCC, so I went back to the black one. I do not put anything on my roof, so the scratching issue is not one that I have. I would worry about the lip behind the front cross member.

I have a pair of chrome ones on my Dark Saphire OCC. I think they look better than the Black one on that color. I still have the black too.OCC Roof Rail "Bling" 2011-01-01000000-102

Hey that tint looks great too! Hadn't seen it since you got the tint done. Hopefully mine will get the windows done next month.

That job keeps getting pushed out!

Mike,
It is in the shop getting the AIR LIFT 1000 installed with compressor. The Bilstiens are on now. They were a great improvement. Going on a trip soon with Airstream to Sacramento CA and Grand Junction CO and back to Lincoln City OR. It will be a good test.
