Well my light came on today on the way to work. Car seems to be running fine. I'm wondering if one of those dry-rotted vaccumn lines on the passger side of the intake is leaking and if that's what tripped it.

Such fun!

Went and had the car scanned at lunch. It's pulling the EGR code. I'm on my second EGR now. He said it "could' be those dry-rotted hoses on the intake tripping it, or it could be the EGR selenoid as well.

He cleared the code and light is out, but he told me it will most likely come back.

What year is your car again? On my '94, I was occasionally but regularly getting an EGR fault despite the EGR working fine. I went into TunerCat and adjusted the trip threshold a bit and haven't had a problem since.

It's a 96. What's a trip threshold?

Planning to see if I can still get those curved vaccum hoses from GM and then will see about an EGR selenoid. Think that sits below the EGR itself....I'm sure it's buried under the wires I just reloacated to add the Vette fuel rail covers.

Such fun!

The amount of tolerance the sensor/ecu will allow before throwing a code.
