ss console for my wagon Empty
PostSubject: ss console for my wagon   ss console for my wagon Icon_minitimeTue Aug 04, 2020 3:55 am

Switched out my driver side front for another passenger seat some time back. It was a 60/40, now it's a 40/40. I tried but am ditching the 90 something s10 console. I dont like how the front is wider than the hump. It hangs out on both sides of the hump. Otherwise no complaints, the color was even pretty close. $20 if anyone is interested, no mounts included. I was only using the no longer needed center seat belt tp secure it while deciding if I was really going to keep it. Prefer not to ship. Found a 95 impala SS console that fits the hump better. It will need to be re-colored from grey to tan. Picked up mounts from ebay kind of cheap. They appear to have been welded to the donor car floor, and still have chunks of floor on them and are a little bent. They will need some massage work. Is there room to put self tappers thru the mounts into the floor, or will that damage something in the tunnel? For now I am again using the center seatbelt to hold it in place.

Thanks,

Tom

Should be enough room if you use some small one. May make thing interesting if the trans ever has to come out. Stray metal objects in hidden areas are never fun, lol.

I prefer to hold things in place with rivets. Still leaves a hidden object but they are normally much less sharp and hold things in place much better.

I am also considering rivets, tack weld studs, and adhesive
