is there any word on wagon fest ny dates?

Hopefully a time when we can cruise the watkins glen track

Hoping it’s still the last weekend in July as per every other year.

Yup.  I'm the local guy who has, in recent years, set things in motion for Wagonfest NY.  Timing has sometimes, not always, tried to hit the weekend of Geneva's Cruise Night.  There is no indication that Geneva BID will ever host that again.  

This year, I am constrained by travel abroad for every July weekend except the last, so I can get things organized for that weekend (July 29- 31) for 2022.  I'll start a new thread, and we'll go from there.  Same place: Seneca Lake State Park.  I'll look into availability of the track at Watkins Glen for any night that weekend (Friday or Saturday night, July 29th or 30th).  I'll see if Tom might get a block of rooms reserved at our usual hovel.... um hotel.

I just checked the availability of the track at Watkins Glen, and Saturday the 30th is blacked out, but Friday and Sunday are available at 12 noon or 5PM.  So, if you can get here early enough or stay late enough in the weekend, the track is a "go".  All we need is about 5-10 people to make it interesting.

We could try a run at 5PM on Friday, and be back in Geneva in time for dinner (either solid or liquid).

i had checked Geneva's web site and did not see anything about car show also. Count me in either way

Are there plans to bring back the annual cruise night for 2022 ?

As of right now, yes, Cruisin' Night is going to happen on July 15th. If you would like to check back in, I should have more details by the end of next week.

We also have scheduled the Fox Run Garlic Festival which will be happening in downtown Geneva August 5th through7th. Here are a few links that will tell you about that event.

Whoops.... Looks like the stars will not align for Wagonfest and Cruise Night this year.  We had to get a date established and balance availability of participants and other events.  We aimed for the usual time slot for Cruise Night, and missed.

Folks: in years past, Tom (Silverfox103) booked a block of rooms for this event, but you're on your own for hotels this year.  Get on the Interweb, and don't wait too long.  Geneva and the Finger Lakes is a very popular place in the summer and prices are higher this year because every hotel chain needs to make up for losses during the pandemic.  Even the campgrounds fill up.

Sorry for getting to this a little late but what are the reasons we can't change NYWF to the 15th? Did we put it out there (maybe I missed the thread) to ask what the members wanted? Especially if we are all on our own for lodging. I for one look forward to going to both events it makes the weekend a little more exciting.

We could, but not this year.  See above post from Tuesday, April 5th.  I'll be in Italy on the 15th. We shot for the last weekend because that's when Geneva had routinely scheduled Cruise Night, and then they switched it for this year to mid-July.

Any updates for the Glen. Anyone interested?

I'm in if we can get at least four cars. If it's me and Donmac, we just need two others. We'd need to go Friday afternoon. So, get a head count on this forum, and we'll meet up at Wegmans in Geneva, and then head for the Glen (same as always).

As long as I make it, I'm in. Wagon didn't make it Daytona, complications from a blowout and incompetent AAA person. We went anyway in the Jeep. Not the same.

Yes! And the 31st too if people want to hang around and meet on Sunday morning coffee on the Lake. I'll send out one more call to assemble a group interested in going to Watkins Glen on Friday afternoon/evening to run their wagon on the track. We'll assemble in the parking lot in Wegman's, and leave from there.

Saturday morning: Seneca Lake State Park, as usual. Meet up, hang out, eat, drink, and curse gas prices. Fishing off the seawall wall is fun, and almost guaranteed not to be spoiled by a fish.

I will be there at sunrise.

For those interested in the Drive the Glen experience, we'll group up at Wegmans in Geneva on Friday afternoon (29 July) around 2 PM, leave for Watkins at 3 PM SHARP, arriving at 4PM-ish to buy tickets ($30 per car) and get to the track at 4:30 to line up for the 5 PM start.
