NY dates ??

Any dates for NY wagonfest?
Watkins Glen open?
Cruise night?
All 3 would be nice........

We're going through the same nonsense that happens with Geneva BID every year.  Cruise Night here, Cruise Night there, here a cruise, there a cruise,....

And Watkins Glen has the track closed for 25-28 July, but open the weekend before (July 19-21).




Wagonfest has often (not always) been the third weekend in July, which would be 19-21 July if we include Friday.  I'd suggest that we pick that weekend (19-21 July), and if it hits Cruise Night, so be it.  If not, we at least get a chance at Watkins Glen, which is popular with a number of people who show up.  If we pick the following weekend, then Watkins Glen is out, and we may STILL miss Cruise Night, because the City still has 2 months to switch the date, or cancel the event entirely.

Personally, I would not put a car out on the city streets during Cruise Night, unless you like dents and puke, and I've lived in Geneva for 38 years.

So, with respect to trying to schedule the 2024 Wagonfest NY to coincide with Cruise Night, we are once again on a fools errand.  The City of Geneva moves this event and cancels it willy-nilly.

Glen trumps cruise night for me. A lot of things are going on, hope I can even make it. 19-21 works for me hope I can get my act and car together on time.

I think everyone likes going to the cruise. Lots more to see and good food and libations!!! LOL

My Mrs. is working the weekend the glen is available so sadly that weekend is out for me.

My vacation request has to be submitted by midnight today. I guess I'm probably out this year.

Since no date was confirmed, I have made other plans. I will be going to Dover Delaware for 5 follow the leader laps around the track https://www.speedwaycharities.org/events/dover/laps-for-charity/ $75. It's a 300 mile round trip for me. I'll be home for dinner.

so why don't we just pick the weekend of the 26th and those that want to go to cruise can. and the ones that don't want to go to the cruise don't have to and we still will all be there Saturday together. i dont want to miss out on getting a room

I will be in Memphis TN on during the week of July 27th.  The Glen is available the weekend of July 20-21, so I'd plan Wagonfest 2024 for July 20-21st.  Not that there's a lot to organizing one of these events, but if you want me to do it, I'll pick a weekend that I'll be in NY, and be down on the lakefront in my usual spot on 20-21 July to see who else shows up.

Some like Cruise Night, some don't.  Same for the Glen.  The "traditional" weekend was always the third weekend of July, which this year would be the July 20-21.

Hope to see all of you there, even if you're pissed at me (this is why I get the big money!).
