it is always ON on my '95 RMW.. and hints about where to look..? thanks

The switch is on the lower right latch. It is similar to the glass latch switch. It is not adjustable, so the only thing you can do is put a piece of heat shrink tubing over the actuation finger.

thank you.. i looked all over the rear some time ago but never found any switches.. will go look, later, when the wife gets back with that car..

thank you.. obviously not an external switch since there is nothing visible in the latch area.. since the trim panel is off on my other '95 i can look inside there and verify i can find it before i try to remove the trim panel with attendant damage..

i looked in the tailgate on my white RMW and yes, there is the wiring in the lower passenger side inside the tailgate structure..
