I was just wondering what kind of mileage everyone gets on their car. My buddy 96 Roady with 2:93 (I think) is getting just over 14mpg combined city/highway. I was hoping for a little more. What are you guys getting, and what do you think we should get pure highway as we planning to drive to Florida next month?

I've had these things for almost 30 years, off of the top of my head: combined 16 to 19, highway if you get 20 be happy.

14 seems low. Unless he spends most of his time in miserable stop-and-go traffic (like Orlando) the combined should be better.

Mostly Highway with the 2:56 is over 20.

My 1996 RMW does reliably 18mpg in mixed driving, which for me is about 80% suburban driving and 20% highway. This is with a calibrated odometer to accurately be able to tell mileage. It has a freshly built similar to stock engine with 3.23 gears.

Stock engine at 140K miles and uncalibrated odometer gave about 24mpg highway vs the 21-22 I get now, but without the calibration I tend to not really know where it really was as 2-3% error to higher mileage is really common in stock cars.

We just did a 240ish mile trip today, mixed driving with three adults in the car and she calculated just shy of 20mpg with the a/c most of the trip. She keeps track of every fill up. I think with her normal around town driving she gets 14-16impg.

my 96 varied based on my foot and driving conditions - best i think it ever got was 21 but usually was between 13-17. was nonposi tow pack car, don't recall which gears. current 93 towpack (again, don't know the axle) gets between 15-20. got 21-22 on hwy only a few times keeping it ave 65 with ac on.
in the past i'd see tons of people claiming their b-bodies were getting mid 20s all day long - even 26-27. I always found that hard to believe.

Different engine in my 91 (305) but I've taken a 2,200 mile summer road trip for the past 4 years and get between 22 and 26 MPG.
