My Cruiser has been with me Since 2007.  I bought the car off ebay from a dealer about an hour from me.  It had been repossessed from the former owner and was barely road worthy.  I bought it for parts.

After relaying the car home over the course of a week or two, I pulled it into the garage and started cleaning all the junk out of it.  During the process I found the car to be darned solid and practically zero rust.  Turns out it was a life long VA car, purchased new in Arlington.  So, after some more investigation I decided it was too nice to part out and fixed it up turning it into a not-quite-daily driver and hauler.   This was somewhere around 96k miles, I'm uncertain the actual mileage because the speed sensor was broken when I got the car and for who knows how long it had been like that.

With lots of work, parts and help from other wagon nuts, I got him cleaned up and looking great.  Even went to WagonFest NY a couple times and got the chance to drive him on the Watkins Glen track.

Here he is at that time.  OZ's and SStreetlights even.

That was mostly original paint and sadly years of sitting outside has taken its toll.  I've been wanting to properly fix the car back up but the time and funds simply weren't there.   After selling my Fleetwood this spring I've got things going!  New headliner and audio system were done and last week I dropped him off for body and paint work.

Here he is, finally in the garage as I started to get ready for the paint work.

Working with the body shop we decided the paint and filler was so bad on the original hood it would actually be cheaper to cut in another.  So, on goes a spare white hood.  Trim removed so the door can be properly un-dented.

I forgot to snap a shot at drop off but hope to get some progress pics along the way.   Looking like about a month and a half until he's all done!  Keeping the paint original as I really love this color when it's not all faded and losing the clearcoat.
