'77-'79 Buick dash to '80-'90

All,

I've always wanted a '77-'79 wagon, but they are much harder to find than the facelifted 1980s examples.

Has anyone here swapped the dash (gages, radio, HVAC) from the earlier model to the later ones? The outer shell appears to be identical. I really want to ditch the double-DIN for a shaft-style radio, and the clock on the passenger side is awesome.
