Got me a LT-1 finally Empty
PostSubject: Got me a LT-1 finally   Got me a LT-1 finally Icon_minitimeSun Nov 07, 2010 1:31 pm

Well guys I am finally joining the LT-1 wagon owners group. As much as I enjoy my OCC it is slow as molasses.Really the power is my only complaint.
Found a one owner 95 RMW light blue with wood.Been garage kept by a 84 year old man who is giving up his license.Car has 122000 miles and
really looks clean.Going to pick up monday and go to DMV.
Wish I could keep the OCC but dont need 2 wagons so its going on Ebay after I fix a few things and clean it up good. With 69000 miles and 2 owners,
it should sell quick.
Before it goes on ebay I will offer it on my favorite forum first.I dont know what the price will be yet so any help will be appreciated and please no
rediculous low offers.
I hope that the new wagon will be as trouble free and reliable as the OCC.
Thanks guys
Jim Gordon

Awesome to hear. Can't wait to see it. Wish I had the $$ for a low mile OCC. I love OCC's. Good luck with selling yours.

Hey Sprocket its a 91 and I have a set of the correct Olds Rally rims and a set of the ugly ass wheel covers.I am
keeping my BBS wheels for the 95.Are the shocks front and rear the same for the 91 and the 95 with the rears
being air shocks?
I just saw that damn toyota commercial again and I can only remember a few toyotas that looked good compared
to our wagons. The current LFA at 375,000.oo bucks and the last gen turbo Supra.Other than those 2 cars everything
else sucks big time!

95 is OBDI though by looking at the components you cant tell a difference other than the extra O2 sensors.

Congrats on the car. PICS! And if I didn't already have a 68K mile Cruiser creampuff I'd be interested in yours. Wink

front shocks are the same, dunno if there is any difference on the air ride stuff, but doubt it. straight rear shocks are also the same.

Guys I have brought the wagon and I am drunk with the power that is the LT-1.Holy crap is that a badass wagon.
The difference is quite remarkable and addictive.Came home on the interstate and damn was that fun.
Please go to sale-7bm98-2044063441@craigslist.org for the first pics. Its going to need work and its no where as cherry
as my TBI wagon but with this kind of power I can live with the few problems. Some electricals need work but
nothing I cant handle.

Yea its a 95 Light blue woody with 122000 miles and a like new leather interior and that awesome LT-1.Go to Richmond \
Va craiglist and hit cars and trucks then enter Buick Roadmaster.Still having trouble posting pics of my own.Gave $1800
and thru my tags on and drove it home.Late tonight I took it up to my old 1/4 mile spot and did a little hammering and that is a fast wagon.Hard to believe something that heavy can move like that.Odd options list with HD cooling on the oil, transmission and no tow package.Has a cheap hitch thats going to the dump quick.Needs a lot of cleaning and a ton of little odds and ends fixed. So far so good!

Jon you got it,thats my wagon and its looks better in the pics but for $1800 bucks I can handle it.It runs very very
good.I cant bear getting rid of my OCC just yet so I am going to take my time and do things right.May just put tags
on both wagons and play like a fledgling Sprocket.
I still cant believe the power difference.I live right beside the York river bridge. This a very steep incline 1 mile long
bridge that was built to clear navy destroyers, cruisers and once the battleship IOWA came up river to our
naval weapons station back in 1985 or 86.Now that was something to see.Anyhow my OCC would downshift from
overdrive back to drive and if I was running the 45 mph speed limit sometimes down to second gear right at the top.
This bridge is very steep and one of the largest 2 span swinging bridges in the world.
I went over the bridge last nite in the RMW at 45mph with the cruise set.It didnt shift out of overdrive to drive until
the very top.Thats a torquey damn engine to pull that heavy wagon up that steep incline at 45 without any apparent
strain at all.
More to come
Jim Gordon.

For the wife.....I suggest you find you a country girl that will help you unload your latest POS car project off the trailer......with your 2-year-old in her lap. A girl that will teach YOU to ride motorcycles. Oh yeah, and she's not scared to clean a fish, she still deer hunts with her Dad, and MAN she can cook as well.

I knew she was "the one" when she replaced the front shocks on my 85 Grand Prix when I was 20 and she was 18.......without help. Gotta love country girls!

I may not have married Kate Hudson but I have ZERO complaints!!! ; )

Beauty is only a temporary thing that grows old and vain.I have dated some truly beautiful women years ago and everyone of them were high
maintenance and mediocre in bed.I think that having someone who makes your heart rate jump when you hear her coming into the house means
more than someone who is pretty but superficial and use to being spoiled and doted on.
A couple were very pretty but didnt act like it and I almost married a couple of them but I have always had a problem being faithful to any
women.Do you think Kate Hudson would change your shocks?
Never make excuses because your wife isnt physically beautiful because the true beauty is on the inside.
Mike consider yourself a very lucky man because I do!

When I met Misty she was a bartender at DFW airport. I was in college, had my first apartment, and I bought a blender before I bought a TV...ha. I'm telling you once we started dating my place was THE PLACE to go on campus on the weekends. Good memories...well what I can remember...makes me want a margarita just thinking about it...

She learned to drive in an 82 Chevy Scottsdale stepside that was a former Bell Systems pickup. Her Dad bought it for her at auction, and she helped him re-finish the wood bed and do most of the mechanical repairs. He taught her how to fix everything. Truck was a 350 with a 4-spd....and a clutch so stiff most men would have issues pushing down. She learned to tow and she hauled all the trailers with animals in her high school FFA program.

I learned early not to mess with my girlfriend/wife. I was taller than her but she could put me in my place, and fast. Ha!

I know I'm lucky...who else would put up with me?? Sorry to go off on a tangent!

Back to the topic at hand, love that new wagon Bud!

-Mike

Quick tip....go to the nearest muffler shop and have the stock mufflers replaced with Flowmaster 40's. If you do a lot of highway travel leave the resonators on, just replace the stock mufflers. You will LOVE the sound. Nice Chris-Craft burble at idle, good rumble on acceleration or when revved, and nice and quiet on the road.

Next go get some SOS scrubbing pads and attack the exhaust tips. Put some elbow grease in it, and once they are clean, use a little white polishing compound on them. You'll be amazed.

Oh and hit Home Depot for some PVC to do the "first base" baffle mod, and lose Home Plate too while you're at it.

Welcome to the LT-1 world!!!

is suppose to be.So far so good as far as any rusts areas go.I looked good before I bought the car but all of usual spots for rust are spotless. The exhaust
is going to be my first mod after I get everything else working properly such as the locks, interior lights, load leveling,a/c and other things.I am going
to try the precut window tint on ebay before I pay 200 bucks out.I want limo tint on the rear window and side glass up to the passenger doors and the legal grade on the front doors. These older eyes are not what they use to be so I may have to change the tint grade.I have a note from my doctor
concerning extreme light sensitivity so the law can kiss my butt.
I have started a list of known needed repairs and a seperate list of planned mods and that list keeps changing.
Yes I miss the tach and I know its not needed but I got use to checking it constantly along with the oil pressure and coolant temps.Going with the ash
tray pod for the engine gauges and a pillar pod for the tach.

Don't bother with the pre-cut tint. It's practically throwing money away. See if you can find a better quote from a shop first.

A very reputable shop here quoted me $250 to do every window on the wagon except the windshield. Lifetime guarantee on the tints for workmanship and tint life/ purple-ing. I would venture a guess it would cost about the same down there to do yours.

Thanks for the suggestions Mike, will do asap.Passenger side pipe needs to be uncrimped due to backing damage.Oh the plans I have for this wagon.
First thing I need a fuse panel as the slot for the power locks and interior lights is melted pretty bad and inoperable.
Was just outside snooping and I cant find any rust yet in the usual spots.Only thing thats rusty is the cheap tow hitch and thats going in the trash.
I am waiting on a return call from a machinist friend about making a set of dies for pressing out gas tank straps.I told him to make the dies capable of
handling stainless steel but that might be a problem so I figure if I can get new straps out of the original material I will settle but I want stainless.
He said its a more difficult metal to work with. Not giving up!
