| I have a friend here who has always loved my caprice wagon. He and I were members of the corvette club back in the day and he went to the museum in Ky one year. I told him of the wagon GM made with the 6 speed and he said he remembered it in the museum. he finally brought me the picture he took with it in the background. I was pretty disapointed that it wasn't the one on B.J. but thought I would throw it out to you who may know the story on this boxy. | |

| It's white with tinted windows and has Corvette wheels on it. That's about all I know so far. | |

| Oh that wagon was in car & driver, it was built as a chase parts hauler to keep up with the 84 vettes back when they were road testing them. I had the full vette drive train but the coolest part was the rear window had a decal that read "Wagons are made to haul things, this one hauls ass!" | |

So it had an early 205 HP, Cross Fire 350, it didn't haul THAT much ass, lol. L98 is a TPI 350, IIRC.

| Paraphrasing the C&D article, several examples were built in '83 to validate the '84 Corvette powertrains as the the C4 chassis weren't ready yet. All but one were crushed and that one was re-assigned to the Corvette group for use as a chase vehicle. The TPI and other upgrades were then performed on that car. http://www.mybriggsgm.com/VehicleDetails/857312653The black L99/BBC/LT4/6-speed wagon was also used as a Corvette chase vehicle, There is a photo of it escorting three C5's in the snow on pg 333 of "Corvette - Sports Car Superstar" - Copyright 2005 Publications International, Ltd. - J | |

| I remember reading the article! Man I'm old! They put Vette seats and a Vette steering wheel on it too, and it had the 84-style wheels on it in the article. I loved it!
Glad it's still alive! | |

sweet wagon and remember reading about it back in the day.... You can register a car thats over 15 years old in RI without title then take it to any state you want to get it re registered.

| The point of having a unique car is to drive it. Not lock it away and stare at it. | |

then a drunk runs a red light........ and your historic vehicle just became history. Classics and antiques should be driven. One offs, I'm not so sure.

| Did you notice the PPG Corvette Pace Car in front of the wagon? Reminds me of Chryslers PPG Pace Car, the M4S "Turbo Interceptor" later used in the movie The Wraith There's a B-movie rental with a lot of car chases if you can find it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuH7Oil15e4 | |
