I am selling my 1995 Chevy Caprice Wagon. It runs and drives well, needs transmission work. I really need a car with the LATCH system for my 18 month old and my 4 month old babies -- yep, they're pretty close together. It's in the DC Metro area.
The GOOD: It has 77,089 original miles and includes the 5.7 Liter LT-1 engine. All 8 seats are intact and the car is in decent condition. The wipers all work, the lights are great. I just had the oil changed and I replaced all four tires this summer. I changed out the fuses and the power steering belt and have some fuses. All the electronics work and the engine does not overheat or idle rough. The brakes are in good condition. I have two kids and I've been able to fit two strollers, two dogs, and enough groceries for three weeks in the car, as well as their car seats and a passenger. I have really enjoyed the car and I know someone else will put an easy 250K miles on it. I just want to be honest about the condition, so here's:
The BAD: The interior isn't perfect. The driver's seat has a couple holes from the previous owner and the floormats show some wear. The headliner could stand to be replaced due to some rips, but it doesn't bother me any. The rear door has some marks on it, but they are cosmetic and do not at all effect the swing to close it.
The UGLY: The car needs transmission work, which after I have done will raise the price. It should be about $1500 to be perfect, way less if you do the work yourself. There aren't any other "ugly" items, as I just bought the wagon this summer. So, if you want to buy the car with the transmission AS-IS, I'll sell it to you for this price. If you want me to have it fixed and warrantied, the price will go up.
Please respond to this ad with questions. I am looking to sell quickly and no reasonable offers will be refused. As you can tell, I'm pretty fond of the car. The interior shots are of an entire futon (disassembled) in the car. My son is sitting in a car seat behind me, plus his stroller and tons of other stuff. It's really a great car.
