Hello all, My name is John and I have a longroof. it has been 383 days since I purchased her. is it wrong to love a longroof? Untitled5

Fell in love with the longroofs shortly after seeing steve morris and his caprice make a pass at Rt. 66 in Joliet Il. is it wrong to love a longroof? Pro20Charger20car20burnout

From there the search was on..Traveled many a mile to find her, most of the ones I looked at before I found her were just to good to destroy, you see, I had intentions of cutting her up, back half and all, but the more I look at her I just love her lines so much I could not do it!! so the plan is to add a cowl hood, rear roll pan, a bad a** 383 and the biggest tires I can fit under hear rear and go have some fun!!

after reading this intro it sounds like I am at a 12 step meeting(oh well guess the first step in solving the problem is admitting it) will need your help everybody!!

First off, welcome to the club, I have been hooked on wagons my whole life so I know where you are coming from.

Second, I beg you not to cut up an Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser and make a race car out of it, while it would be cool the car is too rare to do that to it, plus the vista roof would be a source of unwanted chassis flex. If you want a wagon race car, look for a Caprice with floor rust. The no option Caprices are lighter right off the bat too.

Once again, welcome to the club.
Ray.

Thanks for the welcome Ray. I promise you I will not make you beg. I am not going to cut her up. I am just going to give her the bigger heart and some new running gear(i.e. engine, trans and differential) and fit the biggest tire I can without any cutting. Like I had said before she is going to get a roll pan(rear bumper is torn) and a hood(cannot see the damage but right front of hood and grill are rolled under) Do you know of a good place to find spare parts?(found cheap plastic replacement grill for a caprice but no olds parts)
Thanks,
John

Welcome to the forum, I just bought my 1st B-body and its a O.C.C as well. Olds parts are kinda hard to find, mine had the Caprice grill on it when I got it. I lucked out and found an olds grill with a small crack from another wagon owner. Check ebay and craigslist, post a wanted ad on here, maybe someone can help. Looks like a nice car, post some pics as you get it together!!
