| Finally After quite a bit of work and some new parts the wagon is now ready for service. I love driving this car a lot and the kids LOVE that back seat. The sedan is gonna enjoy some time off and await ball joints and an alignment. Still have a few minor things to take care of and I really need to get the windows tinted soon. Not looking forward to replacing the window rollers on the pass side though. | |

| Well that is good news.
Don't be bothered by the window rollers, they are actually easy to replace. |

| The window roller was a walk in the park, cannot believe people have so much trouble changing them. | |

| Told ya! It is a simple job, and the best part is that the window you fixed should last for a good while. |

I've found in the perfect way for dealing with them top bolts on the rear shocks, get yourself a teenager to help, their skinny little hands fit nicely up top over the frame to hold them bolts.

| Of all the places to put a blind nut or a stud and GM missed that one. The upper shock bolts are a legendary PITA on these cars. Someone was making a U shaped bolt that went in from the top down as a remedy but I am unsure if they are still in production. |

| After all the time and money spent this thing has a very slight yet horrifiyingly annoying stumble under very light throttle. Like while driving through a parking lot and entering a space. After I do some sleuthing I will be making a post in tech. | |

The "off idle" stumble is usually a bad EGR valve. Idles fine, drives fine but just barely touch the gas and you get the stumble? If so, I'd guess about a 90% chance it's your EGR.

| Will give that try, thanks. Plugs, wires, opti, O2s, ECT sensor, fuel filter, PCV etc is all brand new and mostly GM. | |

| Well let me beat the EGR dead horse too. I chased a part throttle stumble through two full tune ups, I tested my EGR valve by pushing the diaphragm up while the engine was running. Doing this made little difference where it should have caused the car to almost or completely die.
Match up the OE part number off your EGR valve with the one from AutoZone and all should be good. |

| Bought a new EGR yesterday from Advance as I just don't care for Autozone parts much. It cost me $72 and of course they had to order it. I hate getting parts for this engine cause they are NEVER in stock around here. you would think it was a one year engine or something.
Once it gets here I hope it solves my problem.

| Ouch! For that price, check out rmsautoparts.com. I think you can get a Delco unit from them for less. | |

| Yeah, I know. It came in this morning though.
I am a want it now type of person though and RMS took a week to get my opti vent to me. Am sick of this wagon sitting in the garage waiting for parts, lol.

| One day or 7 day wait wouldn't have made a differnce cause it still does it with the new valve. The old one would not hold vacuum and the new one does so I thought for sure it would be fixed. I have an FSM so I will begin trouble shooting when I have time | |

| Another long shot but have you tried cleaning the intake? One of my cars had an annoying habit of stalling at low speeds and light throttle like in a drive thru. i Seafoamed the intake and haven't h.ad the problem since. Just a thought. | |

| It doesn't stall or anything, yet, lol.
You can put the car in drive and hold the brake pedal, like your gonna do a burnout. Just barely begin to push the pedal and the engine will miss and stumble. Once you get about 1/4 way or so it will clear up. It will almost die but doesn't. Other than that the car runs great, plenty of power. If you just stomp the pedal it will take right off and pull quite hard, even more so with the new EGR so it did help some.
I'm leaning towards the TPS myself but will troubleshoot with the FSM and see what it says as these parts are not cheap.

| Well I am by no means a LT1 expert but I would look at IAC (idle air control valve) and possibly the TPS. I am unsure of how the LT1 adjusts timing but it does sound like the timing is not advancing properly. |

| Just in case you haven't already. Check all those vacuum hoses for cracks. Maybe one has a hidden crack somewhere causing a leak. | |
