| Hello...I have a 96' RMW and have a couple of questions about the Auto Load Leveling system.
Since I have air shocks, does that mean I also have auto leveling or was that an option on some cars? I can't say that I ever heard a compressor running so I don't know if I have one. Does the compressor only run when the ignition key is turned on or will run any time?
I do have a valve just under the rear drivers side rear bumper that I can add air to the shocks..but haven't tried that yet. Do all RMW's have this manual fill as well?

It sounds like your original shocks have been replaced with air shocks. The air ride system has been disabled. Many guys replace with air shocks as the previous owner did to yours.

| The compressor will run with or without the key, unless the previous owner rewired the switch. On my car, the compressor was shorted out, so I didn't even know I had one.
If you have a manual fill valve, the previous owner put that in himself. He probably just pulled the fuse for the compressor. The compressor is bolted to the frame in front of the driver's front wheel. You have to remove a plastic panel to get to it. | |

| Nick I think you meant the drivers side rear wheel for the compressor location. Take Care J E G |

| Nope. The LT1 cars are different. I learned that lesson. |

| So, By adding air to the fill valve or letting air out will raise / lower the hight of the car or does it adjust the firmness / softness of the shocks? | |

| I would say both are changed.Add air raises car and stiffens the ride and removing air does the opposite. You have to experiment to find out exactly what air pressure you find comfortable. You can use a high pressure gauge to keep track of the pressures to find out whats best and this enables you to repeat that setting.Crap having a bug bite reaction!!!!!!!!!! By By J E G |

| Thanks JEG, That brings up another question, How much air pressure are we talking about? I guess depending on the style of shock, there is a min and max air pressure that is recommended? You mentioned using a high pressure air gauge, I take it a tire pressure gauge is to low? | |
