| Laird is salvage-yarding this morning in Orlando. His first yard this morning was LKQ on Colonial. He walked in and guess what was sitting there.....? 1994 Baby! Woo-Hoo, clean Florida chrome! $22 later and he'll be back in Austin on Sunday It's not "perfect", it's got on little chip in it and one light scratch, but I'll clean it up. He says the chrome on it is excellent. I was a little concerned about the area where the grill meets the hood, it looked discolored in the pic, but he said it's just dirty and rubbed off with his finger. Woo-Hoo! For you Florida guys, he said that car had a ton of parts on it. Also in the same LKQ yard: Would love to have the chrome Buick "Road Wheels" off this thing! Nice paint dork... Dumped in the Malibu.. Odd little J-car. Turbo with a 5-spd And next he went to Pull-U-Part, no Roady's there, but he saw these... It's not just a car, it's a Ford Galaxie... Looks just like my Mom's old Cutlass ragtop Who's the U-Boat Commander?? Think this Grand Am went surfing? Laird goes to Miami tomorrow. Wonder what he'll find down there. Such fun! -Mike | |

| LOL @ the chip. Most of us would have never noticed OMG someone go snag those Buick Rally wheels. And poor Grand Am. It looks like a GT. Mine was a GT, I miss my grand am. Good car. | |

| Laird called me griping, he requested a Chevy HHR for running all over Florida with his faux wrought iron for his meetings and conventions, and when he got to the rental place at the Orlando airport the only car they had to offer his was a Hyundai Elantra with New York plates.
Hahahahaha!
Ouch! | |

| Laird mailed me that grill from Florida and it got here today. It's better than the one I found locally but not nice enough to put on my car. I'm going to suck it up and order a new one from GM Parts Direct on my next payday. Such fun. | |

| Do you want to sell that grille? I don't see the flaws. | |

| Pics hide a lot. This one has light surface scratching all over it. The wide upper area shows it a lot in direct light....like someone used Ajax or a brillo pad on it. I tried using polishing compound and wax on it, and it helped a little, but I didn't go too wild for fear of rubbing through the chrome.
It's not broken, not peeling and not terribly pecked up or discolored, but when I put it next to the broken one on my car now, it doesn't have the shine that one has.
I know I'm crazy....but I'm not going to put something on my car that's not as nice as what I'm taking off....

| If its just surface scratches, try buffing it out. They're metal right? Mothers aluminum mag polish with their "powerball" works great on that stuff. | |
