| Just wanted to drop a line to say HI.
I've been wanting a wagon for a long time and finally found one.
My mother and mother in law are no longer able to climb in and out of my wife's minivan, so this was a great alternative.
I purchased a '96 Roadmaster wagon, tan/tan, with 130,000 miles out of South Carolina. (I'm in Cincinnati, OH)
It is pretty loaded, with tow package, heated seats, power everything, seat memory, etc.
I also just upgraded the broken cassette player with a CD/Cass unit from an '01 Century. (exact match)
Wagon is rust free with a few small electrical issues I'm working through, but a thorough inspection by my mechanic revealed only a few leaking transmission cooling lines and an alignment needed. Everything else looked solid!
Looking forward to being on the site.

| Welcome aboard!
There was a discussion recently which made it sound like southern cars don't get the same factory rust treatment as northern cars. You might want to take the car to Ziebart. | |

| Thanks. The car was actually in Concord NC, but because of the screwy freeway system down there I had to go through SC in order to get there! The car did spend 3 years in Maryland, so the PO coated much of the underside with POR-15. Probably wouldn't hurt to give it a good scrub and have it sprayed again though. | |

| I had 4 pre-teen girls in the rear facing seat last night. I could barely hear them screaming. The only thing I don't like is that there isn't much room for a child seat in the second row. I have to move the back of my seat WAY up to make room. | |

| It is kinda goofy a car this large, made for a family, does not have more room in the middle seat. I got my Buick wagon after my youngest was out of his pull-out reverse-facing infant seat. The forward-facing toddler seats fit fine in the middle row. By luck when I got my 89 Olds wagon years back it was also when my first child had moved into a forward-facing seat. I asked my Dad what he did with with the car seats when I was a baby and he said there was not much of an issue because they took trips with me in a cardboard box. Seriously, glad those girls get to experience the 3rd row "vomit seat", as my brother and I called in when riding in our parents 78 Grand Safari as kids. When I became a Dad I was determined to get me a wagon so my kids would have that experience too. Most kids today have never ridden down the highway facing Peterbuilts head on. It's good for them. -Mike | |

| They did enjoy it...and the 2 seatbelts fit the 4 of them. It's better than the rednecks filling up the back of a pickup truck. I would never let my kids do that. (*no offense to rednecks!) | |
