New to me 95 Caprice wagon with rusted spare tire well. Any suggestions on replacement or repair needed.

they have paints available that stop rust but if you bad cancer you will have to cut out bad area and graff in new, simple welding needed. take a pic of the area and I can give you a better idea of your needs

Thanks but I know how to make the repairs. I guess I'm really asking is there a replacement well I can weld in or ???

Well, I tried two different width fenders and neither was wide enough. I finally settled on a slice of 55 gallon steel drum. This will work...

The drum makes sense. Don't forget the drain hole at the bottom.

I was thinking that a trailer fender from Harbor Freight would be just about the right width and
the curvature is easily changed.Cheap too.

what if you cut the whole thing out and weld in a flat pc. i never liked how it hangs lower than the rest of car. does anyone know if a space saver would fit if it had a flat bottom

I just dropped a donut spare in the well and there is 5+" above the tire to the inside of the tire cover. The well drops down just over 3". This might be the best idea yet.
I'll let you know.

i cut mine off hated how it hung way under the rest of the car looked goofy i then stuck a 7 gallon long air tank where the spare tire went so i dont see why the donut spare that was in the car wouldnt fit
