| I have a 1996 RMW and I'm ready for a new set of tires. My tire size in P235 70 R15 and currently have the Kelly Touring Gold white wall on the car.
I would like to replace them with a white wall tire. The problem is I can't seem to find a WW in that tire size.
I read on the other forum about this subject and some readers suggested the following white wall tires...
Kelly Navigator Gold....discontinued Kumho Touring or KR21...Not in my size Republic Enterprise...Entry Level 40,000 mile tire (not interested) Michelin Symmetry...Not in my size Pep Boys Difinity EX600...Bad reviews, 70,000 mile tire wear in half the time. Pep Boys hankook Mileage plus II H725. Store has them...Can't find any reviews for this tire.
So, Can any one recommend a white wall for the above tire size or have any experience with the Hankook Mileage Plus II? Any experiance with Pep Boys service?
Also, can I run a P725 instead of the P735 tire? What is the difference? It seems that maybe I would have more choices.
Thanks as always...Adam

| I have Michelin's on the 79 Buick and they have been long wearing and smooth riding tires. Not sure which model they are but I've had no issues with them. That being said I also like BFG and Goodyear. Do you have a SAM's Club up there....oe Costco/Price Club? I've found some good deals at my local Sam's Club on white-walls. I'm sure everyone has favorites. I don't like Firestone or Uniroyal. I put Bridgestone's on my Bonneville and it rode like a logging wagon. Not a fan of those either. -Mike | |

| You can run a 225 75 15. Will likely give you more choices. | |

| Adam just go to www.tirerack.com and enter that size and it will tell you everything you need to know.Prices, customer comments, test results and tire specs. All you have to do is decide which tire to buy. After you decide I would shop locally and find out who has what. Take Care Jim Gordon |

| I thought 225/75 15 was the stock size for these cars anyway? If you go that route: Runway Enduro 75's are the nicest looking not-stratospherically priced whitewalls you can get. |

| So only some of us got 225 75s and the rest were 235/70?
Weird. |

| I am also looking for some white wall tires in the 235/70/15 for my 91 OCC. I've got some older steel wheels painted body color (light blue) with baby moon caps. I'm really wanting some really WIDE white walls though. Anyone know of any choices other than than the $250 a tire choice from Coker tires? | |

| That's what I have on my wagon, wheel wise, and the Runway Enduros are about as wide as you're gonna get without having a crack pipe price. Their WW is 1.6". |

Weird. Oops. I pasted the wrong number in there. I've corrected it now. So for the 1994 RMW, all 8,885 cars got the 225/75 tires. Maybe the Caprices got the wider size. Does someone else want to check their car through CompNine? I tried to use their VIN seach on a random wagon I found online, and the message came back that I had reached my daily limit of searches. So I get zero searches. (!) All I can think is that someone else at work was using it overnight.

| Sedans had that, I think. And I know Fleetwoods are 235/70. Finding whitewalls in that size is damn near impossible now. |

| Thanks, Jim.
The heat isn't too much of a problem. The smoke from Arizona is what gets our attention. Wednesday night was really bad. Stepping out the front door made us cough. Thursday the air was only mildly smokey.

| Not a good way to live.We have our own smoke here from the Dismal swamp about this time every year.Odors always there and sometimes in the am it can get kinda thick.I am living in an area completely surrounded by federal park service property and theres a huge patch of woods and swamp land behind us.The brackish swamp swaps water every tide with the York river just below my house.Been here 53 years and wouldnt want to live anywhere else. Take Care Nick Jim Gordon |

| Thanks for the responses. I called Pep Boys and scheduled an appointment for this morning for the Hankook Mileage Plus II. Got there 45 minutes before they opened since it was a Saturday morning.
Manager showed up early, let me in the store, very impressed with the service. Only one problem. The Hancook tires that they said were in stock the night before aren"t carried by Pep Boys. WTF! Manager couldn't figure out how the sales person could price out a tire that they no longer carry.
Any way, He offered the Cooper Trend Setter SE white wall. I know that some of you have recommended this tire. It's a 50'000 mile rated tire and is considered a "value" tire. Is this for your daily driver roadmaster? I'm concerned I'll hit that in two years and will be looking for tires again. At $98.00 per tire plus installation, It did not sound like a value to me. I have also read some reviews that some owners have experienced a wobble in the tire.
So I'm either going to consider the Coopers from Pep Boys or leaning towards the Hancook Optimo H725A (same as the Mileage Plus II) from Mavis tire.
BTW. My spare tire looks original and it's a P725 70 R15 General Ameri Tech WW Tire.

| Ended up going with the Hankook Mileage Plus II. I am happy with the ride and looks. Ended up Pep Boys found the tires and called me back. I was very happy with their service and their prices beat Mavis by a hundred bucks (Tires, balance, installation, alignment and rebates) after all was said and done. | |
