| Since the '97 S-10 is down with a bad fuel pump, my Dad is driving my Roady wagon. He called me just now and said he went to release the parking brake and the T-handle broke off in his hand. Ha......dammit! He said he thought it could possibly be glued back on.... Anyone had this happen? Do I have to replace the entire cable? Never a dull moment. -Mike | |

AHHHH. The only way to adjust the rear brakes is the emergency brakes. If you do not use it they do not adjust......

| Junk yard, get the release handle and cable all in one shot. Easy.
Mike
PS: The rear drums on a wagon are suppose to adjust when going in reverse and stepping on the brakes.

| I'm holding firm to my previous statement from when I fixed the door panels....the interiors of these cars are made of recycled Monogram model car plastic. Love the car, hate the interior quality....and it's not age. My 88 Cutlass and the 79 Buick have none of these issues.
Such fun!
So nobody has yet to answer my question, and since Dad still has the car I can't look. Is it possible to replace just the handle without breaking it or do I need an entire cable??

My buddy Laird and I drove to Hyannis from Jersey the summer after our junior year in High School and got a rental house and spent the evenings checking out the girls and the days hitting the local salvage yards....yes instead of seeing history...we saw junkyards....we were 17... Who knew there were junk yards on Cape Cod...ha! ANYWAY I still remember asking directions to a yard at a gas station. The older guy there had the thickest accent I ever heard. The directions were "Go down the road and turn right at the Cumberland Farms"....but what I heard was "Gaa daawn the rud an tuun rut at thh Cumbaaland Faaams" Ha. I'm sure he got a kick out my Texas accent too, even though it was much softer after spending years in New Jersey. Just curious! That was a great trip by the way, we had a ball. I remember James Taylor and Anne Murray were having a concert at the "Hyannis Melody Tent" We got a big kick out of that. Also that song "Crazy" by Seal was super popular that summer and one of the girls we met LOVED it. Every time I hear it I think of sitting on the beach at sunset with a big group of other kids...just being young! Lord I sound SO OLD, HA...enough sharing, the ROADY IS NOT FOR SALE! -Mike

| Speaking of accents, my wife...then my girlfriend....used to laugh when I'd call my buddies back in Jersey on the phone when we first were dating. She said whenever I was talking to them on the phone, my accent would change and I'd sound like someone from up north, but as soon as I got off the phone I sounded like a Texan again.
I still don't know if she was pulling my leg, but it's a crack up if it's true. I sure never felt like I was talking different....
Such fun!

| I'll trade you straight up a 94 RMW with 195K, well it'll be 196 by the time it gets to Austin next week. Parking brake handle intact. All the custom dents, and peeling clear coat included for free. I'll even through in a sagging headliner if you act quick. KBB says $3500 with parking brakes intact, $5 if they are broken. | |
