| My horns oare dead due to the plastic buttons in the steering wheel being broken. The switches are mounted in the Air bag pod. I don't need the air bag, just the switches for a 93 Caprice.
The switches look like little clear plastic cubes that interlock.
Let me know if you've got something I can use.

| It doesn't say "EASY" on it
Wheel swap would end up being close to $200 when it's down. I'm looking for a ten dollar solution to pass inspection. this month.

He mentioned inspection, they would probably fail him for lack of air bag.

| I have a set of switches. $10 shipped. I accept Paypal as a personal gift at jfkiehl@ij.net. Send your address seperately because the personal deal does not send it. I can get them in the mail tomorrow. | |

ITEMS INSPECTED ON CARS AND LIGHT TRUCKS
Seat Belts
Inspect for proper operation and anchorage.
Model years 1969 and newer - one seat belt is required for each seating position Model years 1967 and 1968 - two front seat belts are required (driver position included), and one seat belt is required for each seating position elsewhere in the vehicle Model years 1965 and 1966 - two front seat belts are required (driver position included) your vehicle's Air Bag Warning Lamp will be checked for proper operation. You will be informed if the vehicle's air bag warning lamp is on or is not working. This is an advisement only and not cause for rejection. just add the resistor and all will be fine,. the air bag light will cycle as it should,. Nick

| You could use a 2 ohm, 5 watt resistor (or a combination in series, or parallel that gives you that value). and get a steering wheel, and adapter for about $100, if you are not to particular about the wheel. The best price for an adapter is from apple289 on ebay. The wheels can vary all over the place pricewise. 6 hole Nardi or MOMO style wheels are the nicest. Grant is a 5 hole mount, and specific to Grant, so you are locked into their designs and prices. You can adapt Grant horn buttons to the Nardi and MOMO wheels...I have a Grant horn button with an Oldsmobile logo, modded to fit a Nardi wheel, for the White Elephant (OCC). If you decide to go with the aftermarket wheel, and need some instructions, let me know. I have installed a few of them.
Let me know if you want the caprice horn switches.

| Working on a $4.00 fix at the moment. Switches from Radio shack under the cover. My concern is whether the JBWeld will hold on the slippery plastic that is surrounding the mounting area. Might be one of those weird plastics that nothing sticks well to.
Might be taking Fred up on his offer soon.
