| Okay so... I don't have cruise.
I cleaned the contacts on the rear hatch glass. No luck. I checked the fuse, it's good. I even today tried a different unit from a junkyard car. No dice.
Anybody know where else to start? I miss cruise control. |

| When mine quit, I found that I had dislodged the vacuum hose from the throttle actuator when I was working in the neighborhood...DOH!

| Hmmm... that could be possible. Will check vacuum lines in the morning. |

Jim It is the upper one. Yes they do break (melt). Easy to replace, pull the old one out, disconnect the wires, connect the wires to the new one, and push in until it hits the brake pedal arm. The CC on the 91+ cars does not use vacuum.

| Hmm... I do want a new multifunction stalk anyway. Can't read anything on mine.
To Napa!
I'll check out the switch too. |

| Yes, it is connected to the upper brake disconnect switch! The pair of wires that are purple and pink operate the TCC, so it is the other pair....
Good news/bad news: Bad first!... That plunger switch is no longer available;( good news is that it is easily disassembled and reconditioned without any expenditure!
For a quick check, you can pull the plug off and jumper it for a test drive!

| I "fixed" my broken cruise control by simply replacing a blown (10Amp) fuse in the fuse panel (LH side of dash board when driver's door is open). Trouble is ... the fuse has just "blown" again. Have not had time to try the fuse "trick" again. The fuses are a bitch to remove; I need to make a custom tool. | |

| Follow the troubleshooting flow chart in the FSM, it is foolproof. Fixed mine that way.
Also, to save time for others in the future: all wagons from 91-96 do NOT require the CHMSL to function in order for cruise to work.
