| What are the blue lights for? Never noticed that before on any car I've seen with T84s (though, to be fair, I've only seen 3) | |

| nice. I hope you're running 80/100 bulbs. Clean with isopropyl alcohol 99% before installing. Also, get some brighter parking lamps if not already done (2357 vs 2057) | |

| First option...I think it would tie in the interior (I would get lighter tint on the windows to help the ruby red interior come through). But I kinda want something more "wilder" and lighter...if that makes sense. Will see what comes back for round 2! | |

| Well, I won't show what I picked...because it is going to be kinda wild. BUT the wood does tie into my musical taste. I'm going with a Cocobolo Rosewood pattern (which you find in some instruments). I also want to try wrapping the upper trim to look like wood (or quarter round) as well with finishing nails in spots. Yeah, it will definitely be interesting, but I am pretty excited to see how it looks in the end Take it in next week. | |

| That wood is gorgeous,.. i think a nice 12 ft grand would look spectacular. Will it be a challenge to diguise a repeating pattern or will it be one complete unique wrap,.? Ghost chainsaws,.? | |

| Me too Jarrod!
Nick, it will be a custom grain designed for the length of the wagon. The pattern should not repeat (and he knows that).

| I keep putting off posting thinking I would have time to take some better pictures. But another week has passed and I'm just posting these. Look, I know this is a polarizing design...even I find myself going from one end to the other daily. lol But hell, it is fun and I can change it later (since this is now my 4th vinyl version on this wagon) 1.Stock 2.Black Woodgrain (my favorite, but I bought cheap crap) 3.Carbon Fiber (was stealth and bough good materials...but got bored) 4.Tiger Wood Stripe Explosion. (I turn 40 this year so this is my last gasp of wildness I guess) I will also say that the materials used and installation were the best I've ever had. Shop was nice to work with and I would go back again. I just recommend you get samples in hand before you just let everything rip. I LOVE the upper trim design. They wrapped the trim too and man, I really love it!! You will never loose your wagon in the parking lot again (and it seems to glow at night too)! Behold: | |

It definitely gets attention. For better or worse...I'm finding a lot of people snapping pics on their phone (when driving) so that is prob bad.
It was a hit at the local ChickFila last night...had a crowd of kids around taking selfies.

| I actually really like it in these pictures. I wasn't sure at first. Like you said, it's a little pixelated. If not, I would be 100% about it.
Would look good against a white one, too.

| I love it. My only complaint (question, really) is why you chose not to do the upper trim in the same pattern? I think the other pattern competes with the wood grain. Are you coming to Wagonfest with it? I hope so, I want to see the new vinyl in person. | |

| Thanks guys! Yeah, I wanted the upper trim to be another type of wood that complimented the lower. That is what they came up with (I do like it...even if I change the body pattern later I think I'd keep the top trim wrap as is).
I'll be at the Daytona WF for sure so those coming can check it out and see what you think!

| Well...been a while since I've posted any updates. Bought the TorqueHead setup and as I was taking things apart to install it...I thought I should check the timing chain. It was kinda floppy (200K+ motor). During that process I learned some things and just decided to yank everything out and have the motor and trans rebuilt. lol -- I'm going with the electric waterpump, so I bought an extra timing cover and had the WP drive hole welded up. -- A friend in GA (Jay) is building a 355 for me and I will post up more when I pick it up (might happen this Sun if the stars align). Trans is at Cooks Racing which has a pretty good reputation. Figured it was wise to just do everything at once while I had it out. | |

| Okay. This is to inform the un-initiated. I can see the benefits of an electric fuel pump for short run race cars (drag, autocross, drifter etc.) to temporarily remove the power needed to power a pump. My question is, on a car that is driven, sometimes long distances, would not the added load on the alternator(s) negate the power drag caused by a mechanical drive?
There has to be some other advantages to these pumps as I see them being used in a lot of cases. Would question their longevity as well. Just replaced a mechanical one in my truck that only lasted 240,000 miles. More information please.

I assume you mean water pump. I deleted the mechanical fan added an electric water pump just to clean up the front of the engine on my car. I don't understand how a slight increase in demand for electrical power offsets the removal of drag from the absence of a mechanical pump.

My intention was to get some information on why one would remove the mechanical water pump for reasons other then aesthetics? Is there some purpose to this that may relate to efficiency, extra cooling etc? just not conversant in the technology and wanting more insight. Bill

| I went with the electrical because it is just easier to replace in the future. You literally unbolt the bolts holding the pump to the water pump housing, remove the pump...and replace. Done. You don't have to touch any hoses or gaskets and it won't make that much of a mess. I've had one before years ago and it served me well. Just figured it was time to do it since I had everything apart anyhow.
Is it worth the extra money? Nah...but I like it.
And on another note, I already bought some new 3M woodgrain and that is the winter project :p

| The manufacturers justification, or some might say propaganda: optimization of coolant flow rate irrespective of engine RPM, ability to run and provide cooling after engine is shut off, ease of replacement, durability (for the better units), space at engine front, and increased power due to less mechanical drag.
I've installed the Meziere pump on 2 cars, and I'm very happy with the result.
