Car looks AMAZING, Dick. I notice that your center caps even still have the red in the rockets. |

Yes it does. Actually I have put 1,200 miles on it so it is now 52,344. I have the Texas documentation each year it was registered by two owners the milage was recorded. Both owners were Olds guys. It was not used like a traditional Griswald family. E Each owned it ten years. Dick

| ????????????????? I tried to send a PM response to Admin but found out the Admin does not accept PMs. So in order for this newby to learn I will post it here. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Admin: I have read all the rules twice. Is this PM a " First Notice of rules violation. – Warning notice sent to member(s) via private message"? I got a message about threadjacking from a member when I asked twice about dual exhausts. I never saw the first answer so I asked again in another thread about mufflers and exhausts.
It was sugessted I start my own thread. I contemplated bagging the whole forum but I have learned much already. So yesterday I started my thread in catagory "other" called West Coast Cruiser. I posted some photos I took of my OCC with the setting sun.
Today I got my first PMs. One was asking if I would like to tell my story for LROM. Yes I would. The other was this one telling me to read the rules!
Help me out here. Was the rule message simply a welcome and standard everyone gets or have I again crossed the line with the rules? There seems to be a double standard in which newbies get there hand slapped for asking the wrong question or the right question in the wrong place. Senior members post about anything, including inuendos about sheep and changing the subject at will.
I would appreciate a PM about my questions as soon as possible before I answer the LROM question. I really am glad I found the GMLR forum and want to be a participant. Thank you. Very Respectfully, Dick Deam aka COL

| I'm not a moderator but we are pretty low key here. I think some of the messages you got were automatic ones. I haven't seen you post anything out of the ordinary that would warrant a wrist slap.
just my .02 btw your wagon is a beauty. I'm on my 3 OCC right now.

| I,m not sure what you,re bitching about dick,. I mentioned something on the forum to you about posting in other folks threads etc,.because you basically asked the same question twice in two threads,.now you being a newbie etc,.newbies have a habit of doing that, firing questions into a thread, thats only partially relevant,. because newbs are oft times reluctant to start a new thread,.it,s a daunting complicated process that frightens them, now you have mastered that process,..complete with pictures, i,m not sure what the fuss is about,. So i mentioned that you start your own thread,.good pertinent idea i thought,. Your own thread being a question about exhaust, and then you might get all the different opinions and answers you might be looking for,. plus the obligatory sales call from a member telling you he has what you need,. I forgot you artsy types are sensitive,. our very own bewbs is the same way,. the slightest off hand comment and dissolves into raw emotion,.93 roadyman the very same way,.My sometimes less than tender way of addressing issues is a cross they have to bear,. Well this is a nice picture thread,.but it doesn't really cover your exhaust questions now does it? Are you really so sensitive that you need an internet hug so you'll stay? Please dick don't go,. the OCC addicts will have withdrawal pains,. Nique They won't let me be moderator because of my insensitive ways towards TBI owners,.but i,m still taking classes for TBI awareness and sensitivity training,. | |

| Nickie, Thanks for the hug. I am a lot more Army Retired Colonel than a sensitive artsy type. I just thought I would get the Task, Conditions and Standards figured out early so not to offend anyone. You answered my Question about the exhaust on both messages but I missed the first one so I unknowingly threadjacked. Running duals on my car not worth the effort. My stock OCC TBI 5.7 has a lot more power than my 1958 Cadillac so I am impressed. Way better mileage too. So I will stick around and be a new guy for awhile. Oh Oh. Did I threadjack my own thread? | I figured they were gettin' scarce. I cover them for daily use cause it rains a bit on the Oregon coast. The car was carefully used over the last 20 years. The cargo area carpet is still nice too.

| That OCC map flap is not a doorway to a compartment, but is more like a leather folder with the binding (hinge) on the bottom. Great place to keep registration/ insurance cards.... It's glued to the surface of the dash... I think all OCCs have them... I love that blue cloth interior! Regarding OCC availability in Canada--- I'm not really sure, but with less than eleven thousand OCC's built in 91 and 92 combined, that would equate to less than 500 per month over that time span divided by how many dealers?... I really doubt that many of the OCCs spent very long unsold at the dealer lots... I'm thinkin special order IF a buyer was made aware that they could get one instead of the in-stock Buick RMW at the local BOP&GMC dealer. The OCC was discontinued after 92 | |

| OCC's were never sold new in Canada. They were a US only model.
Interesting fact told to me by Fred, back in 91-92 because of the OCC being sold in the US GM did not sell WB4 roadmaster estate in the USA, and since the OCC wasn't sold in Canada WB4 roadmaster estates were available in Canada in 91-96.

Dick I think most of the wagons with cloth seats had vinyl/leather on the third seat to resist soiling/staining....very interesting that yours has cloth!

| I went to the Portland Oregon swap meet Friday and Sunday. A huge well known event. I did not see one B Body wagon, or literature, or anything at the meet. On Saturday on the way from the Hotel I came up next to a 1992 Caprice the same color as my OCC. Now what were the odds? What I did find however is a vendor of Music, an old career DJ. He had long since turned all his studio recordings into CDs. His wife convinced him to bring the old cassetts. I bought over sixty for 25 cents each. I played aroung ten so far and they are great. I know my taste in music may be a bit different than many of you but I got stuff from Areosmith, Beatles, and Elvis.....to Michael Jackson, Whitney Huston and Willy Nelson. A lot of Surf and Hot Rod stuff, Stevie Ray Vaughn to the Kingston Trio. I know the stereo in the 90s cars are not up to today's standards but it is the best I have ever had. I can adjust the 4 speakers so I can hear from both ears. Not that easy for this hearing impared Vet. Dick | |
