| Guys does anyone know the paint code color of the grey on my wagons, all I see on the tag is the number for the white? The grey has a few areas I need to touch up? | |

| I went through the same BS with my OCC. Even the guy at the paint store couldn't figure it out from my SPID, it's just not listed. Fortunately I owned a Caprice with the same color lower paint, so I was able to order it by the WA code on that car's SPID. Matched perfectly. It's called Gunmetal metallic. The code should be WA9243, but I have to verify that when I get home today... | |

| Yea. On the Caprice it's listed as the L code (for lower as opposed to U for upper). It is called gunmetal metallic, and can be hard to get. Apparently, not many people mix it anymore. I found it on www.automotivetouchup.com and Lynol is correct. WA9243 is the code | |

| Thanks Cappy, saves me from trying to find that can at home! I didn't have any trouble having it mixed up at a paint store local to my friends. They made up a few rattle cans so I could do my bumper, which came out nice. One full sized rattle can cost like $30 though. | |

| The website I posted above does a decent job mixing, and they have a LOT of codes. They mix it into spray cans shipped to your door for $20 +s&h (which can be a bit pricey IIRC) for a 12 oz can. They also (used to, don't see it anymore) sell it in a smaller spray can size for cheaper (if you don't need as much), as well and pints, quarts, and even gallons. The Paint is good and will match as well as it can to ~20 yo paint. From my experience, you may need to repaint the entire lower area in order to get it to match. Finding the right primer can get you very close, but because the paint has been exposed to the elements for 20 years, it's not the same shade as it was when it left the showroom floor. | |

| I found the SPID pic off that Caprice that I used to order the gray paint with, and I don't know why this is, but the WA code for that color is different; WA5328. A quick search shows this and WA9243 are both listed as the same color, and they both have the same two digit paint code (87) so I guess one must just be a replacement number (the Caprice was a '94) so anyway, you've got two numbers to give to a paint store in case they can't find the older one in their database. | |
