Subject: tail gate wont go down

hey guys i been trying to figure out why my tail gate will open normal side ways but when i try and put into tall gate mode it wont even open down

It could need some adjustment. You might try and just slam it HARD & see if that allows you to open it downward.

That has always worked for me, give it a good hard slam and it should come down.

I had the rod pop off inside the gate on my '96. Simple fix once I got the trim panel off.
