Why is that? Other than thats the width of the stick tires on a RM? |

| Because if they're 9 or 9.5" wide, and the backspacing is 5.5", it puts the mounting face of the rim in a spot where it should clear the drum brake and not have any issues with the fender lip.
Stock wagon wheels are 7" wide, by the way. |

| This is a lot harder that I thought! So geeze - I guess I will have to check the tires. |

| I will defer to the experts. My wheel fitment knowledge is minimum at best.
To give you a LEGITIMATE answer, you would have to provide at least the following:
Diameter Width Bolt Pattern Backspacing Offset (sometimes listed as "ET")

| I'm running 15x8 with 4 in backspace and they are TIGHT but fit. Hard corners and they rub the skirt lip. Alot of guys roll the lip up.
Now the stock SS rims are 17x8.5 but I don't know the backspace but they have plenty of room between the lip and the tire. I've seen guys run 9 in wide rims on a wagon as well.
the 15x8s have a ton of room behind them. so if that is 5.7 in back space and 9 inches or less width I would say you are good to go...
Basically, through my empirical study 4 inches of 'frontspace' and you are REALLY tight. | |
