| I've been curious about how much the average B body wagon weighs since I picked the 1993 Caprice Classic wagon up. Someone told me that the "advertised" weight for these cars was 4700 pounds. I wanted to know precisely, which involved scouting around for a grain elevator where the truck scale was A) left on, B) not very closely guarded and C) equipped with an outdoor display It didn't take me too long to find one last night. For a 1993 Caprice Classic station wagon with many of the available options installed, in a totally stock configuration, a short half tank of fuel, an L05 350 V8, and no cargo or people onboard, the answer is 4400 pounds. Later, my brother and I took his 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis (he and I both like "road sofa" cars) to the scale. It weighed in at a rather surprising 3650 pounds! (I'd have expected it to be lighter.) My guess is that the fancier cars like the Roadmaster and Custom Cruiser probably weigh a little more. | |

| I was on the scale with mine last week. With me, 2 small daughters and 2/3 tank of gas... 4750. I'm 180 and the girls are about 110 combined. So... 4460... | |

| Wow, the Panther is way lighter than I thought it would be. A new Camaro is waaayyyy heavier than that! | |

| Yeah. I'd have expected the GM to tip the scales a little over 4k. |

| No, both are cast iron with aluminum intakes. Should weigh the same, or close enough that it'd be negligible. |

| Great info! My dad actually ran over me when I was 14 in an olds wagon. Lucky for me the wheel only ran over my hand and wrist. I had tire tread marks in the form of tiny blood blisters on my hand for 3 weeks. It di break 3 of my fingers. Guess the weight explains it. Man did it HURT!! | |
