Two weeks ago, I went the Sebring Historic races. They were lightly attended and this bitch named Sandy was causing trouble all up and down the eastern seaboard. I left my house on Friday and the storm was passing to the east about a 100 miles. We had a lot of wind and rain but by the time we got to Sebring, it was ending. We drove by the track on Friday and it was raining, so we went to the State Park to set up camp. Raining all the way to the gate and then the sun popped out!
We set up camp, had a beer and about an hour later a squall rolled through. Lasted about 10 minutes rained hard, then that was it, she was on her way to NJ. Meanwhile I was missing the surf of a lifetime back home:
A spot I surf fairly often about 20 minutes from my house looking like somewhere in the Pacific.
Worst part of this was after 2 days of racing action, I was stuck in Disney with my wife and daughter and missed the waves of a lifetime. Well I'll have to make a few trips to get over it, lol.
Back to the cars:
Walking in I saw a Healey......psych!, a kit car sporting a crate 350 (nice) and an auto trans (not so nice
). Didn't even talk to the owner as it was a vendor type of thing, and having the real deal, I'll pass at the not so cheap imitation.
Cool Beemer, know nothing about it.
Mmm Big Block
The badges showed this as a RS/SS car.
This car owner was a one man show. Driver, pit crew, etc, etc. Bought the car in Cali off the side of
a mountain, made it a clone of the Le Mans car. It was pretty tight and I'm not a big Vette fan, I LOVED this car.
