Hi gang and Happy Holidays! First time I've been on a computer in about a week. Figured I better check in.
Well I put over 1000 miles on my Custom Cruiser since last Friday, no joke, and I have a newfound love and respect for this car. Nothing...that is ZERO went wrong. Wife, myself, 4 big kids and one little kid, and a big dog, plus luggage and for a lot of this the Sears X-Cargo up on the roof rack.
And the most amazing thing....with all that weight and drag, driving 70-80mph, the car averaged 21.5mpg. Tune-Up and Oxegen Sersor really did WONDERS!
Anyway, here's some pics for ya'll!
Last Friday, loaded with wife, kids, gifts, dog, luggage and presents. Quick 7-11 stop before heading north to Dallas.
Parked at The Czech Stop Bakery and Gas Station in West Texas on the way to Dallas.
http://www.czechstop.net/about.phpOn the way home from Dallas we drove through my wife's hometown, Corsicana Texas, which is also where I went to college. Had to stop at Collin Street Bakery for a fruitcake for my Dad (yuck!) and cookies for the rest of us.
Then drove to my old campus, Navarro College, to show all the kids where I went to college, and where I met my wife.
Nothing says Christmas Vacation like a good old big station wagon!
None of the kids killed each other, and they fought over who could sit in the 3rd row. Very cool. Misty even seemed to enjoy the trip, good times.
As for the other miles I put on the car, will post pics of delivering the '79 Buick to it's new owner, with the Custom Cruiser behind me.
