| Watch both Mecum and Barrett Jackson but like Mecum better. The prices seem more realistic and they dont pull the stunts BJ does like stalling to raise prices. If I ever won the lottery I would be heading for Mecum with a car hauler of my own. |

| considering the hassle factor of co-signing a car to auction, not to mention the cut they take from the proceeds, it'll be interesting to see what the market brings when it rolls across the block. I'll publically withhold my thoughts on what it will go for as a potential buyer may find this thread and I wouldn't want to tainit any bidding. Then again if they find this thread, they'll most likely find the sale thread for the car on the same site..... That being said, I think Ian did pretty well on the sale. | |

| Well like you said it'll most likely end up with a car guy and not be used for hauling paint and ladders.

| I dunno car guys need to haul parts home from the junkyard sometimes, as well as paint and ladders. I had a 24 ft extension in my wife's AGW just the other day..... | |

| if i still lived in Fla, i would probably be driving a B wagon as a daily rather than my focus... when you dont have to worry about rust...all sorts of possibilities open up. you would think after 80 years of snow plowing and road de icing they would come up with something less corrosive than salt or brine! | |

| set the DVR for all weekend.i have been watching these auctions for the past couple of years and the thing with them is if you look closely at the buyers they seem to be always the same people at the auctions. i think its a closely knit bunch of collectors who are trying to manimulate the collector car market by using shill bidders to run the prices up thereby inflating the market. i was watching a rm auction yesterday on velocity and i was surprised that a couple of their cars did not hit the reserve granted the prices were very steep $1.5 for an original 66 a/c cobra with 16,000 mi and a rare cobra coupe at $2.5 mil. who the hell can afford these cars.
my brother in law built a factory five cobra kit car a few years ago he and his son did evrything except the paint and he has less than $20,000 grand in it with a apprised value of $35,000. i think it looks just as good as the originals and they can take it out and flog the hell out and not have to worry about decreasing the value of it.
we should start a pool as to what you think tiki is going to go for. my guess is it probably will not been shown on tv at all as don't think its a high demand or exciting car. thinking it will struggle to hit $4800.00.
whats your guess? | |

| Actually, I'm right in there with what I figured. I would have been amazed if it broke 7k. Figure with the fees and prep, the seller made a decent attempt to make some coin, but at least they didn't leave on the minus side of the coin. | |
