was bored and just about to give up on doing the parking brake cables on my '95 rmw. the cable splitter/equalizer whatever ya call it was rotten on my car and there was no way i could reuse it. didnt think it was a huge deal until i spent a good hour sourcing for a new one to no availabilty. no luck in the yards up until now also. today i went to near by yard which i hardly ever go to because they never seem to be open. i ran across a couple neat cars and didnt even get around to scrounging the other half of the yard where the majority of the old stuff is kept. (they keep a close eye on you here)

anyway heres some pics:

this is my old vs. new/used equalizer i found on a rust free '94 caprice sedan with 80k km on it (about 49,000 miles) the car was in amazing shape, it had rear sway bar with a 2.93 posi rear which i think i'll take. i'll post some pics of the whole car at the end, if anyone wants something of it pm me. the grill is CLEAN.

heres the caprice. looks like its been undercoated since new. no rust. motor was gone. trans was still there. the whole rear end is $250 i just need the gears though so im gonna take it. how do you remove just the rear gears and posi unit? is it just the diff cover and then four bolts? the driveshaft is out of the car also.

Pulling the gears out of a diff, while on your back in a JY is not my idea of a good time. See if they will burn off the upper and lower trailing arms for you and take the entire unit. Will be much easier to pull it apart on the bench. These are not removable pots like the Ford 9 inch.
