| Hi all, Been luking a couple weeks and made my membership official. Looking forward to gaining DIY knowledge, have fun, and even contribute to this site. Car: '94 RMW Estate, tow package, loaded, 188k miles , and lots of "Jerry Rigged" electrical by previous owner. However, he was meticulous with oil changes, maintainence and records. Info: This is my son's first car and will be our project. We bought it for...$20. yep, you read that right. Cheers, Bud | |

| Welcome to the site. Sounds like my oldest sons first car( free) but man did it need work. The fun we had redoing and modding the 76 LeMans were great. Good luck. | |

Thanks Dave! First job is to find best place to buy coolant hoses. Found a pin hole leak in metal downpipe that sits between motor and mechanical fan.

Can't beat that deal, when it's probably worth $200 scrap. But it sounds like you're going to get her all fixed up.
How bout some pictures.

| LOL, I'll give ya $100 right now...
Welcome aboard. I traded a wind up alarm clock for a car once (72 Toyota that needed a fuel pump). Always fun to make a score like that.
On the pipe you have two options, look for one in the JY (RMS and Caprice sedans with towpack would also have the same pipe). Or you could switch to the twin electric setup and use a full length hose.

| wow, just introduced myself, and already a bidding war between Tom and Sprocket.
Thanks guys, and yeah, i'm already looking to go the mechanical fan delete route so I can just go normal hoses.
I've even heard the factory single elec fan already on it works fine without additional duel set-up. Although, not sure I want to test that theory.

| Welcome to the forum, that's a nice looking wagon you've got. I don't recognize that blue, is it a re-paint? That's a cool color. I also have a '94 RMW, tow pack, with 188k. Although mine is quite rusty, lol. | |

Lynol, thanks for the welcome. It's the original paint and losing clear coat fast. It's a deep metallic navy/royal blue, (not sure of official color name). It's got it's rust issues as well, especially the lower sheet metal directly behind rear wheels. Common for these from what I read, and just part of the "project list" for my son and I. | Sapphire Blue Metallic sounds like the color....run your VIN through compnine.com or look at the RPO sticker in the tailgate. I can't get over how good the wood looks on it. Mine is done from the FL sun.

wood is indeed in fairly good shape, except tailgate which is painted entirely primer black. Wood trimwork is shot too. The rear windshield wiper has been removed and the mount sealed and caulked with bolt and washer (sloppy looking). Some interior headliner sag, but think I can correct that with 3M spray adhesive. Front seat fold-up arm rest is shot, that should be a tricky one to find. Horn on steering wheel has been replaced with a hose clamped switch on shift lever (one of the many electrical "Jerry rigs" I spoke of).

| Hey Bud, if you've got a tan leather interior, I've got an armrest from my new '94 you can have for shipping costs. The leather is in decent shape, but someone made a dang mess of the cup holder portion with coffee and soda. PM me if you're interested. This style armrest was used on '91 to halfway through '95, then they went to the clam-shell style. The color of the tan leather on the seats is specific to 1993 and 1994. '91 -'92 tan is yellowish, and the '95 -'96 tan is lighter than '93 -'94. | |
