| Just to mention this, I found a '92 OCC at the Pick-N-Pull salvage yard in San Antonio and it had a Caprice 9C1 gauge cluster in it. It looked totally factory, but of course would not light up blue at night I'm sure...except for the digital speedo that is. Chevy gauges light up white I believe. I did not take it apart to see how it was attached. Wish I'd taken a picture though. I never realized that the 9C1 cluster is basically the same design as a TBI OCC or Roadmaster cluster, with just a digital speedo in place of the analog one in the Olds and Buick. All the other gauges are the same...just different font. It obviously bolts into the Olds dash with no mods, I just wonder how the speedo is powered. Was kind of a neat mod! -Mike | |

| Mike, they mount exactly the same the only difference, as you can see, is a couple of the wires.
Installing that in my wagon was one of the best mods ive ever done.

| I like my OCC cluster too much to swap it for anything. If I had an RMW I would put the OCC cluster in it as well. Analog gauges are much easier to read quickly. | |

| I like mine to except my tach is reading twice what the engine is actually turning according to my code scanner. The scanner is probably 25 years old but it was state of the art when new.It has these cassettes for various manufactures that you pop in just like the old tape players. |

| If I was you I'd run back and grab that cluster pronto. I agree with justin - having a digital speedo and an analog tach is the best setup. | |

I think the digital is kind of cool...just don't see them much anymore...but I really like the font on my Olds gauges. Looks sporty. Will leave mine alone. -Mike

| At least grab it and sell it to somebody so it doesn't get crushed. | |

| Grab it, they are hard to come by. On the 9C1 olds, and buick they are all plug and play. Of course you will lose the tailgate light with the 9C1 cluster. The speedo is more accurate too being certified. Put one in my son's wagon and now the speed is pretty close (1-2 off vs 10-12). I think the diff now is the tire diameter.
Personally I like the olds cluster best, with the 9C1 second.
It takes a bit more work to make one work in a tbi caprice.

| The 9C1 clusters are only as accurate as the tire/VSS gear combination. I wish I would have known that they were in demand, I could have picked one last weekend. If I go to that yard again, and it is still there, I may grab it. | |

| Yeah... I'm looking for a backup 9c1 cluster, because I suspect the tach in mine is dead. I quite like it.
It makes you a hell of a lot more aware of your speed, too. lol |
