These are a little bit late, but here are some photos from the EyesOn Design Show, held on Father's Day, 2013.
The setting is the Edsel and Eleanor Ford home in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.

This year's theme was "Revolution over Evolution", recognizing vehicles that represented a significant departure from the existing designs of their day.

Of course, there are always special categories, including this year's Chris-Craft category!

This year's Poster Car; the 1948 Tucker:

Remember the Dodge Deora Concept car? It was here, too!
This became the best selling Hot Wheels car of all time:

Mike Alexander owned the "Alexander Brothers" custom shop with his brother Larry.
He appeared with the "Little Deuce Coupe" that was built by his shop and ultimately adorned the cover of The Beach Boys' 4th album in 1963:

The "Baby Boomers" category; revolutionary compacts, made in America:

Ever heard of "Moxie"? It's kind of a 1930's version of Red Bull.
John Wissink re-created the Moxie promotional vehicle based on his memories and research; the vehicle is operated from the saddle!

"The Cars of Jackson" category showcased vehicles that were built in Jackson, Michigan.
I've never seen a Jackson before; there were SIX of them here!

There were two stunningly beautiful cars in this special class "Preserving the Vision":

From the "Upper Class Reunion - Evolution/Revolution of American Luxury 1955-1969"" category
Probably the single most photographed car all day...
The owners hit a deer en route to Michigan from near Toronto.
The car was driven to the show!

One of the coolest things about EyesOnDesign is the tactile design reviews done by the special guests who are visually impaired.
I happened to be near my car when they came by to feel my car:

There are a few categories I didn't photograph, but you get the idea.
It was a great show and I was honored to have my car invited.

Congratulations on the invite and award! All those cars are beautiful. It must have been upsetting for that Caddy owner, but of all the cars it would likely have the least damage and more plentiful parts.

Thanks!

The Caddy owners were very nice folks and took it in stride.
They even put a little sign in the middle of the grille that said:

DEER ME!

Thankfully, they have good insurance!

I was just in the right place at the wrong time, Flasheroo!

I was picking up all my stainless steel moldings at a friend's shop. He is one of the selection committee honchos and he knew they were still looking for a 68 GTO hardtop...without a vinyl top. Apparently, many others had declined the invitation.

They asked for some pictures of the car and they liked what they saw.

I was happy to say yes!

I'm intimately familiar with that whole tactile review deal, as my wife prefers to have the lights off. Smile

Congrats on the invite, and thanks for the great thread. I appreciate that you took the time to make an actual thread and explain the pictures instead of just posting a link to a photo album like some losers.

cool show. I think I saw the Darrin when I visited Bewbs a couple years ago at Back to the Bricks.

The Tuckers are cool cars. I've only seen one and it was on the street in Downtown San Fran and Francis Ford Coppola was drving it. I chased it down the block and crossed in front of it at a red light so I could get a better look. Only two years later I saw a pic of him with the car recalled it (I did know it was a Tucker, but didn't know it was him at the time). I thought it was cool as hell that he'd drive it around a city.

That's the closest I've ever been to a Tucker.
Amazing it was created just after WWII; that thing is FULL of very interesting and advanced ideas!
