Annoying squeaky steering wheel - Clock Spring? Empty

I've looked around and have not been able to find anything on the topic of a potentially bad clockspring.

There's a high pitched squeaking as a I turn the car, definitely more of an issue at low speed when the wheel turns more, but even makes a little noise within the "play" at higher speed. It is in the steering wheel / airbag area and maybe I'm too OCD or something but it's driving me nuts. Mad  :

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Is there some way to lubricate the clock spring without R/R? How hard a job is it to R/R the clockspring, presuming that's what is going on?

Thanks!
Dave

You have to remove everything including the lock wheel. To R&R the clock spring, you have to remove the translucent plastic wire guide on the bottom of the column. The connector will go through the tunnel if you work it slowly, making a path around the other wires. Putting it back in requires a wire or string inserted into the tunnel, wrapped/tied around the connector and pulled from the firewall side to pull it through.
