I don't know if you all already know about this site (I searched this site and could not find any reference to it), but I love my wagon and thought it was fascinating.

Thanks, read every page. The side mirror mystery is finally clarified. If you look at some of the early models, you can see the small mirror on the "patch" as he calls it. We now know why the small mirror was moved up the door.

Great read!

My Fave paragraph:

Chevrolet decided to widen the tread and open the rear wheel opening which did not help the car in my opinion. They felt that they had to do something, so an SS model was also made. This idea was initiated by the observance of a black wagon with large special wheels that was spotted by one of the designers on his way to work one morning. It was owned by a dentist, he was persuaded to bring it in for display and, since larger wheels and tires would help any car, it received a lot of attention that resulted in the SS model.

HA!

There can be no argument about the beginning of the customization of the 91-up B cars. Wagons were the choice. Remember the press that the Mooneyes car got? How about Thom Taylor's AlterNomad? And... that Kicker demo car... Wink

Agreed, seeing a local mild custom when they were new made me WANT a wagon badly.

It was silver over pewter Caprice with full size moons like Fred's and dark tint. Looked like a spaceship floating around my neighborhood, I loved it. This had to be around 92-93 time frame.
