Aside from the normal cracking/splitting everyone gets on the bottom portion on the drivers door. (1994 Roady) My handle pulled out of the door on one end. It looks like a threaded spike. Does it have a nut,or go into a plastic female piece? Thanks in advance. scratch

The grab handle itself is bolted to the inner door with large screws under the straps. You carefully peel back the ends of the straps, and there is a large Phillips screw on each end. The handles also have little hooks on the end that are supposed to fit over the ends of the plastic trim there to.

I just had my panel off yesterday in the rear. The screw goes into a metal clamp mounted on a metal strap that is riveted to the door. You can see the metal strap and dark clamp in this pic.

My thought is you will need to remove the front door panel and just replace that clamp. I just slides off the metal strap.

Hope that helps!

So I will need to end up re-rivetting said strap to door?

No you just need the little clip that that slides over the metal strap inside the door. You can see it in the upper-left corner of that pic I posted above. There is a bright silver metal strap riveted to the door, and a dark rectangular clip with a hole in the middle, which is what that larger Phillips screw mounts too.

Can you see it in the pic above? Just to the left of the rolled-up plastic splash cover, on the upper-left of the door. You don't need the strap, just the clip, which should slide right off.

You might also look at the threads of your Phillips screw. It's possible they might me stripped and you could just use a different screw and some Loc-Tite to re-mount the pull handle.

Good Luck!

The part is called a speed nut. They have a small tang that catches on the hole to keep them in place when you remove the screw. If the tang is bent or broken the speed nut will fall off. You can get them at the local parts store. Take the screw with you to make sure you get the correct size.
