removed wagons chrome molding for $900.00

i removed the body molding of off my 94 wagon. the chrome was in bad shape. i knew the dr side pass dr had work done and thought maybe i might find that the 2 tone line was off a bit. i peeled the molding off and it took some paint off and also found the paint bubbled under it. the drivers dr had some bubbled paint as well. my body guy said it looks like who ever did body work did not let paint cure. long and short it is going to cost $900.00 to fix. got to love it. here are some pics.

$900??? My body guy will paint below the belt all around for $250-300.... or just tape it off and spray it with rusto professional...

Yeah same here. My body shop would paint the whole wagon for $900.

they have to paint into the blue part also not just the gray. i am going to remove the chrome on bottom and sand blast the spot welds all the way on bottom of the body near the frame. i want it to look perfect. if i could swing it i would buy the hood i want but it is not in budget

Ouch. That's too bad! I'm really surprised it costs so much to fix that. I'm guessing that included sanding it all down and fixing the rust too? Hope to see pics once it's done.

I want to pull my beltline trim off too. I don't like it at all honestly.

it includes them removing handles the window trim mirror and smothing down the bubbles where the paint pulled up but still stayed on car and painting mirror.

Wait, so you're getting rid of the chrome trim around your windows too? That's going to look cool.

no i am keepng that. the shop is removing the trim that goes at bottom of window that has the rubber that seals the window so rain does not go down door. they are removing it so there will not be any tape lines. that is why they will pull door handles and locks also. i told them i dont want to tell there was any work done to it.

Ahh... I was going to say. I didn't think it was possible to remove the window trim. Be sure to post some nice after-paint pics.
