| Those rims have been on my short list, waiting for money that isn't earmarked elsewhere. Now I just need to wait and see what they look like on your wagon to help make up my mind. | |

I'm hoping to have the front end all back together by Saturday night. - buickestate wrote:

do I bring it to wagon fest this year? I already did the rear bumper for it, so it's not needed. - BigBlackBeaSSt wrote:

| MAJOR BRAINFART, sooo, I wanted to be sure I had enough paint to finish off all his little things on the wagon, so I ordered another pint of paint. So I stirred it up and mixed it with what was left. What a Big Fauking mistake. So now I am scuffing the whole wagon down and dusting everything back together. So it looks right. That's why no updates. So Fauking mad at myself, I knew better than that, to do that.
So I guess i'm going to get my daugthers wagon ready to take to wagonfest since it needs a bunch of maintance done before going. One day event for me, in sometime saturday before noon, and out the same night. 4 hours each way, oh well it is what it is.

Is it something done with sheep?
See you in about 72 hours my friend.

| Well the repaint has begun and it's looking really good as usual: Hood looks dam good. Bumper looks good again, Oh Yeah I found and bought the chrome for the bumper. Fresh paint on Grille as well. Going to be leaving it all grey, the black inserts doesn't look that good because it doesn't show the mesh. | |

| Hoods all buffed and I also cut up wheel well molding to fit occ bumper. among other stuff. I'm going to wait until I have one side all back together before posting any full shots. Hood and grille is going backing on tomorrow. wheel well molding mod. so now those can be painted. | |

| Lookin' good Jerrod.
One question though, The grill mesh.... I thought the idea of painting it black was to make it "disappear"?

| Looks awesome and you recovered quite well from that catastrophe.
Question, were did you locate the chrome molding for the front bumper? Original or aftermarket? My molding is quite trashed.

| Looks good! I foresee a rattle can of flat black paint in my future...I think the mesh needs to be black on both the hood and the grille...need to see it in person I guess. Love the hood and bumper. | |

It's an aftermarket piece, It showed up yesterday and it was wrong so I shipped it back. They sent me a textured black one that was 1/2 wide. So as of right now still don't have one. Hopefully they send me the right one this time. - Big Wagon Guy wrote:

I guess it's whatever one likes. When it was black it looked incomplete to me. Like it was missing something, that is why I painted it grey on both the hood and grille, the second time around.

| Thanks Andebe.
So I've been dealing with windows all day today. Changing the plastic slides that are bad and removing the tint off the glass since they are different colors due to changing of the doors and rear qtr glass. I also found out driver side door has a bad window motor, from donor wagon, so I need to change that, and I changed passenger side front glass as well. Getting things buttoned up slow but sure.

| Looking GOOD! Thanks for attending to all the little things...that attention to detail is what makes all the difference in the final product...sure looks freaking fantastic in the pictures...cant wait to see it in person.
I was getting accustomed to the mesh being Grey...but now that I see it all together the mesh has to go flat black or whatever the heck the black finish is on the mesh part of the OEM SS grille.
Before you go through the trouble of swapping window motors try tapping it while someone holds the switch in the open/closed position.

| My plan for today is to clean and prep trailer hitch since it doesn't look that great all rusty and then install rear bumper cover for the last time. Also plan on taking out the driver side quarter glass out of Gold wagon so I can install that next week. Pulled the tint on it and as always the dam glue stayed and that is a bitch to clean, need to finish doing that too before pulling it out. I also finished up the front wheel well moldings so now I can paint all 4 of them today along with front bumper molding. Then I can call the windshield guy to install new front one for next week, since I put him off. Also will be refreshing the roof racks, so it suits the rest of the car. Lots of little things to do then some major cleaning. I'm so glad I've got my wagons to look at to make sure I got all the right screws in the right place. - Big Wagon Guy wrote:

Ran into hundreds of bad motors in my lifetime to know what a bad motor is. So that too is on the agenda. Oh yeah when I pulled the tint off the passenger side rear door glass that baby is all scratched up, really bad so I'm going to work at getting the one out of your old door then changing it as well. out. I also bought this set up to make life easier for the next person. Thread insert tool Factory door holes before drilling for insets Door with insertsWhat it looks like with it all mounted back up

| Well its been 26 months since I dropped my wagon off for what was suppose to be a 3 to 4 month job. Has there been any progress since the last post? When will this car be ready? I have been nothing but a gentlemen throughout this ordeal...however that's about to change.
Someone has stopped responding to emails...really hope I get a reply.

Someone has stopped responding to emails...really hope I get a reply. Well this thread took a weird turn. Saw it had a dozen pages, so I started from the beginning. SO much hope and awe for mad resto skills. But sad to see **** is going south. I'd call a sheriff's department, show up with my title, ask for an escort, and demand my car back.

| This thread will not be allowed to degenerate into a stone throwing sea of opinions and accusations.
We have two well liked members that appear to be headed for a confrontation.
Whatever difficulties exist between the two parties are their business and as such should remain only between those two.
Comments regarding the car / body / paint work itself are still welcomed.
However, there will be no more input regarding delivery dates, financials or law enforcement intervention from the assembled masses or this thread will be locked and go away.
Those that can't keep their opinions to themselves or communicate off-line can also expect a week off without further warning.

| Agree 100% with Jay.
Those not directly involved only fan the flames, not too far from being on the playground yelling fight fight fight to egg people on.
The work on the car, looks fantastic though, it'll be gorgeous when it's done.
