| I just did a search but didn't see a thread on restoring the stock steering wheels. Given how many I've seen that are black or discolored someone must have documented this. Is it as simple as cleaning and painting with SEM vinyl paint? The wheel in the RMW I'm buying has seen better days. Thanks! Ian | |

| There are places that refurbish interior items. Perhaps an Upholstery shop in your area that can help? Some folks just replace it with one from a different car.

| I think many people replace it to get a different look and get rid of a 20 year old air bag. You could clean and prep it then spray with SEM. SEM may have a prep solvent but alcohol will remove solvents and oils also. Jeff | |

| Thanks guys. I don't feel like replacing it, I actually kind of like the look, just want it one shade!
I'm not sure what to think about the 20 year old airbag. I'll leave that alone for now. | |

| I usually just replace the wheels. These are also known as "GM parts bin wheels". They used them on just about every buick from the mid to late 90's. If you check out the buicks at your local yard you might find a mint replacement. | |

| Nothing wrong with a 20 year old air bag. It will still work when it needs to. | |

| Thanks all, hope to get to this over the winter break. I have a few other parts that are scuffed, so I'm planning to pick up some SEM paint and have at them. | |
