| WHAT? IT"S DEAFENING IN HERE!
I suspect the yards of Dynomat helps more than the wood would.

| I have started. I put boom mat on the roof while the headliner got recovered. When I replaced carpet, I added a big roll of the stick and peel insulation from lowes. Not to much sound deading gained, but should help with heat and cold | |

| Actually is does seem help the a/c and heater efficiency. I always thought of things like dynomat more as unwanted vibration deadening than sound or decibel deadening. | |

| 1 roll Home Depot "Ice Shield" $35.00 Still have 1/2 roll left. Careful when installing, once it sticks its there for good. 1 roll 1/2 inch felt matting $40.00 Had 10 ft left but it got wet Replace carpet
With windows up, could not hear the diesel in the Locomotive, just a light gurgling from the engine side so I guess it worked. Warmer too.

| I purchased my carpet from trim parts, but ordered through Summit Racing. I think it was 196 all said and done, but I got the extra plush carpet in medium beige. I wouldn't say its hard, but its not easy. You have to remove a good amount of trim and the seats. Then when you put it in, work from the inside out, which is tough because the carpet is sent a little long. So, trim a little outside, make your cuts inside for the bolts holes, and hope it all settle right. That's the insulation. That's what one roll covered. That's installed. Looks better in the pictures. It still needs to settle some. | |

| I had great success with ACC Carpet you can order direct from them or order from thier ebay store its under a different store /ebay name but sold as ACC Carpet.
They offer a mass backing that I will add to my next carpet order for the OCC. Jeff

| All of my install has been in the cooler weather, so can't speak on the ac, but it holds heat much better. I have to leave it on 70 to be comfy, even when it's sleeting and below freezing outside | |

| I did everything on my 95 Caprice Wagon. I bought the car mostly torn apart, so it was the time to do it. Lots of it was already done before I bought it, so I finished it. I used the home depot bubble wrap looking stuff and it works great. I have Nascar loud exhaust and its quiet inside so my wife and kids ride on long trips and don't complain about it! | |

| I did a internet search on the "Home Depot bubble wrap stuff" and found a lot of mixed reviews. Although everyone said that it does work with helping keep your vehicle warm/cool, but that was the end of everybody being in agreement. Some of the issues people were having was with the glue. From what I understand, the glue has a low "melting" point. Once it gets over 90 degrees the glue starts to ooze and then no longer stays tacky. Other people said that the glue will leach harmful vapors into the cabin. This is where i found what I was talking about. I also did a search within the forum and found many other threads about this topic. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/dynamat-vs-lowes-peel-seal-201328.htmlOn another note. Home Depot does sell another type if "bubble wrap" insulation that does not have an adhesive attached. Purchase the roll and then a spray can of automotive upholstery adhesive and I would think you would still be under the cost of Dynamat. | |
