| Is this a good deal? '92 OCC 350 tow pack car in a rare factory color? http://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/4859966641.htmlSo, we have decided to sell our 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Wagon. It is one of our weekend cruisers, and we mainly use it just for fun. We take it to car shows and I often take her to work on nice days. It's like driving a living room! It currently has 105k on the body. Oldsmobile made a total of 4347 of these beasts, and this is one of the few with the 5.7L Chevy 350 small block and the 323 posi-traction rear end combo. (That's why I bought it to begin with). It has the vista roof with the original sun shades that are in great shape. It also has the original rear cargo cover and flip up 3rd row seat that's in great shape. Like most dark colored GM vehicles, the clear coat was peeling so it was just repainted. Every part of the exterior was removed (door handles, rails, bumpers, grill, all rubber, EVERYTHING) and the vehicle was professionally painted at a body shop. This was NOT a cheap MAACO spray and go. It was professionally sprayed with PPG paint. The original color was used, but some flake was added to make her stand out from the crowd a bit. It really looks wonderful and shines in the sun! Inside is a 9 out of 10. Seats have no rips, dash is perfect, carpet has no holes and the door panels do not have cracks. All the lights work, even the compass in the rearview mirror works. It has load leveling shocks in the rear with an air compressor that work perfectly- It would break my heart, but you could easily turn it into a 23MPG work vehicle. It will fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood, and with the rear airbags, you could tow a hefty trailer if you wanted to add a hitch. The following work has been done within the last 6 months or so: New Paint All new oversized tires (lifetime warranty) New rims from a MO troop car (were refurbished and are perfect) Replaced front and rear brakes New radiator, water pump and all new hoses New Intake gaskets New plugs and wires All power windows were fixed (common issue) Underside was scrubbed, power washed and coated with "Zero Rust" paint New Walker exhaust New AC Delco oxygen sensor New battery This car is super reliable. She starts the first time, every time. Runs great, shifts perfectly and tracks down the road nice and true. You can drive it absolutely anywhere. I do- Brought it up here from St. Louis 6 months ago, and have since driven all over the Valley, down to Denver and the Springs and even took it down to Albuquerque loaded with family and luggage. We still average over 23MPG!!! We have multiple vehicles and only two drivers. We don't have a garage at our new house, and I can't bear to let it sit outside subjecting the new paint to the elements that I have heard so much about out here, so it's time to let her go. Feel free to come and take a look. You won't be disappointed. She's located in Alamosa, but I can meet you elsewhere if necessary. I will consider trades as well as offers, but please be realistic. There is more into the car than my asking price, and this is a great start to a hotrod, family cruiser or low rider. As far as trades go, I could use a reliable truck, a flat bed car trailer or a gas sipper for my little sister when she moves out for college. Ultimately I love cars, so I will entertain all trade offers. I will trade with cash on either end, or straight across if it makes sense. Of course, cash would be preferred. $3900 OBO/Trade | |

| I think $3900 for a non LT-1 car is very strong. But...BUT(read really big but;) that ride does have a lot going for it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I can respect this one but it doesn't do it for me enough to spend that kinda coin. | |

| It's been on CL for a while, it was $4500 before, and I'm looking also at what won't have to be done to it immediately because of the apparent way this car has been maintained. | |

| I'd say hell yea it's a deal if the car is as represented. If the paint is really good, and it is a rust free, no bondo car, I'd say buy it, especially since it's an Olds, but I'm partial to those. I'd ditch those goofy wheels and tires and I think it would look %100 better. I'm suprised the seller hasn't aleready done that. | |

| Not exactly a rare color, I've had two that color, still have one of them. As mentioned a little pricey for a TBI car but it looks to be great shape and with new paint. Up to you but if it were me, it'd be worth a look. | |

| I've priced out shipping, it would be about 1100 to get it back to Ohio and I've got a budget of $5000. I'd offer $3500 and the promise to keep it a nice day driver. | |

| I like the OCC and just bought a project 91 wish it was a 92. It looks really good you will save a lot with the work that is done and the paint alone must be worth $1500 I would go for it. Jeff
P.S. you can fly out and drive back for a lot less than that shipping amount.

| I'd love to do that, I have an uncle that transports RVs around all over the country. I'd love to make it a road trip, but its difficult to do with my work/internship schedule at 80 hours over 60 days a week. | |

Thats a beautiful wagon Stew and considering the paint job and all the maintenance work just done,it would be a great buy.Think about the fact that all you would need to do is drive it and enjoy!Ive had my OCC for 10 years and had a 95 RMW for about 3 years, the LT-1 is nice but there is something special about these OCCs. |

I'm the opposite, LT1 lowers the value to me due to complexity and cost of repairs vs the lack of need for its extra power. I wouldn't have bought my Caprice if it had been a 94 -96 model with the LT1. Paint with all trim removed is definitely more than $1500 worth, most good shops that remove trim start the paint jobs at $3000 and go up for any body work.

Huh? Its really no more complex than the typical SBC. The opti scared me at first, but after owning one, its really not that bad. For the 60 extra HP, its worth more than its SBC brothers. I particularly purchased the 96 model since its OB2. Now, in the future I do want a SBC version, only because I want a big block thumper wagon and that seems the most logical route.

| Would your Big Block depend on what make your wagon is? Oldsmobile in a Olds, Buick in a Buick, Chevy in a Chevy or Pontiac in a Pontiac? | |

| It's clearly the factory color, not black.
In this day and age, it's expensive to build an old school marque-specific engine. I like the newer technology engines, why not embrace 40+ years of R+D?

They did make a VERY FEW black ones. That is a rare color. This is the Black/Dark Sapphire color though, and quite pretty when the paint is in good shape. Good luck, hope you nab it!

| Well if it doesn't work out there is a same color 92 OCC in Miami on CL, recently lowered from 4500 to 3800. Don't know if it's a 350 with a tow pack (desirable combo for sure), but it's been listed on a off for almost a year, so obviously 4500 was too much. http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/4859489643.html | |

| 3800 is too much, since the one in Colorado is 3900. If I can get a good enough deal on shipping I have no problem paying 3900 for it. | |

| Nice find it looks! Good luck with negotiations!
I kinda grew fond of those OE wheel covers. Though I think I like the OE alloys better between the two. I had the 'ralley rims' on mine for a while, they look good too. Some trim rings make them better IMHO.
