Hi All,

I'm trying to get the flush and filter done on my '93 and hit an unexpected problem: the fame member that runs across the vehicle doesn't give quite enough room to get at a couple of the pan bolts. I stopped myself yesterday because it was getting later in the day and I didn't want to leave the project half done.

For those who've done this on the 700r4, will the bolts be accessible with a normal wrench (socket will definitely not fit) or does that frame member actually have to be dealt with? The way it's set up, the wrench does not have a lot of swing room to rotate the bolts.

Thanks.

Personally i wouldn't flush the trans,. just fluid/filter change,.

loosen the trans mount nut and lift the trans to the floor pan,. makes life easier,.

So you're saying lift the trans slightly to give a bit more access room? Just trying to visualize what you're saying right. I don't remember this being an issue when I did this on my '95 4L60E

Thanks as always

The crossmember is a lot different on the TBI cars.

Yep, I like working on these old Tbi machines, and the deeper I dig the more I see the differences that midcycle refresh made.

I drilled a hole to access the last bolt. Also use a 1/4 short socket and 1/4 extension for clearance to reach the other bolts.
