So all the fluid came out, from the front. Raining down the cross member. I need to know the interchange for yard trans. Can I get one from truck if I need to.
Thanks.Help, trans just let go. Img_2015

Sure it's not one of the lines going to the radiator?

It was driven and bad sounds where heard. I think its a line but not sure what one. There's also motor old on the tail pipes. So, I think it will be time to change both. Not on my things to do list.

How many miles? Could just be oil cooler lines, engine making funny sounds??

As for the trans, sounds like your original assumption is right.

Fwiw when my trans went in my '92, before I found a good rebuilder I found out that 700r4 vehicles with 2wd interchanged with my wagon. Now as for the 4l60e in your wagon (electronically controlled 700r4) you'll need to research which years will interchange easily without too much wiring alternations.

Found it. Cooler line under motor rubbed the steering damper til it got though. Engine still OK but, trans cooked.

276,506.6 miles.

At 276.5K, it was just a matter of time anyway...

Drop in a used one from a junk yard and keep driving it whule this one gets a proper rebuild.

Something of the plan right now. The lines are trashed and I'm not sure if the clapsed engine mounts are going to make harder to get the lines out. I will be doing those even if I don't change the engine. But, at least it is things that can be had. She should be back on the road by June. On the plus side, it just so happens that it's 1/2 price this weekend at LQK(Pick your Part). lol!

OK so I got a long block, trans with converter, cooler lines and, coolent tank(single line) for $270.

Getting them out was absolute @#$#@!. We could not get the crossmember to come out of the car. Without a floor jack we had to use the hook at the back of the block to lift the trans. there has to be an easier way.

Plus, I lost my book there so can't even look it up.

Crossmember comes out easy once the bolts are out, if you have a 3lb sledge. You hit one end forward, and one end back.
