Fuel Gauge Calibration Empty

1996 RMW Installed a new fuel pump. The old pump was OK on the fuel gauge calibration. It stayed on Full a long time but once it started to move it pretty much moved according to what was in the tank and the low fuel light came on with 3 gallons in the tank. New pump, stays on Full way too long, gets to about a quarter tank then just drops to Empty in about 5 miles. Low Fuel light comes on with 7 gallons left in tank. I've the Fuel Gauge Calibrator. Does it work?
