Got a good bit done in the past week. 9C1 rear installed and rebuilt with 4.10 gears. Just need to finish up the brake lines on it.

Old Trans is out and we mocked up the T56 to figure out where the hole goes through the floor. Tonight we will pull the seats and carpet and cut the hole.

Flywheel needs resurfaced and Pilot Bushing sourced...

Pedals are in, clutch stuff mounted, buttoned up some engine compartment items.
Next stop install the trans.

Booo, the old flywheel bolts were too short. Ordered and they will be here tomorrow.
Rebuilt the front steering with new Tie rods, center link, and arms.

Got the trans in, but it has to come back out so we can put the clutch and flywheel in. Also the SSR driveshaft is too long? Which makes no sense. I had to retrieve my stock DS from the house so we can look at it again today. Even with the swapped rear it SHOULD be in the same location but the SSR shaft is about an inch or two too long. VERY frustrating.

Aside from that mentioned, still need hard brake lines on the rear end and front sway bar swap to 9C1 with new hardware, front pads, rotors, and bearings (all in hand already). Tune the ECM, replace the windshield, and get an alignment.

If it isn't driving by tonight, I'll be wagonless this weekend.
That said, there is only a few things left to do as we got alot done last night! Fingers crossed!

Well, it didn't make WF FL, however, it was running before the end of WF.
At 1:30 AM Friday morning it wouldn't run unless we squirted ether down it's throat and I threw in the towel. It still needed a windshield, alignment, and rear brakes hooked up, so Friday would have been a mad dash to get it ready anyway......

Well she made it 20 miles home tonight! Still have some small stuff like reverse lights, and better brake light hook up (temp rig) and quite a few other things (like new seats, a headliner, window tint, etc. but I'm calling Phase one 98% done.

Having it at the house (although Tim's lift is awesome), I won't have to beat my way through rush hour traffic (2x the travel time) to Tim's shop for afterwork messing around.

1 month update:

Not much to update, lol. Since she has been home, I've been working trying to get the shifter dialed in so it doesn't keep popping out of gear. Currently waiting on a OE Stick to bolt to the stock shifter to eliminate the trans as an issue. Also ordered a couple of shift forks as they were cheap on Rock Auto clearance (under 2 bucks each).

Was all set to drive her to the keys and DOH! there is a puddle of brake fluid by the rear caliper. The remaned unit I put on is leaking from the caliper itself (probably the piston seal). I have a new caliper and will do that tonight after work.

Also, I tried putting in a can of 134A only to watch it come out of one of the lines as it was still going in. I had wrapped the lines with header wrap as they are close to the header, so I will remove the lines and flush out the whole system. A nearby INC member is stripping a 9C1 so I'll use those AC lines for now.

Other stuff for PHASE 1 (Mechanical):

Wire reverse lights and reverse lock out
New temp sensor and plug (it's gone)
Shorten SSR driveshaft and install
PCM reprogram (still stock)
New Tires

Phase 2 is interior mods (seats, overhead console, power passenger seat, sound deadening, stereo upgrade, window tint, etc.
Phase 3 is body work and paint (fix ram air hood, rust, OCC front bumper cover)

Glad to see it's being worked on. Keep at it! Great Color!

So a year and few months later, I did get a couple things done on her (see above)
Also, had to have the T56 rebuilt which cost waaaay more than it should have but it has a 12K warranty (put 1K on it so far).

Waiting on the work bench to go on the car:
Water temp sensor and connector that went MIA during the hearer install
z-28 cluster with tach and new oil sender that is more accurate
new front shocks

really need to get on the roof as the A-pillar rust is spreading fairly quickly...(as soon as it gets cool out).

Unfortunately, I will be closing out this thread.....Most of you know I got rear ended on New Year's eve. Minding my own business at a light. Had just left the junkyard and had a good score for both myself and Lynol as he was in town for the holidays.

Anyway the light turned green and I was the only car in the right lane. Lynol was one car back in the middle lane so he had a front row seat for the whole thing. As the light turned green I already had the clutch in and was pushing the stick into 1st. I saw motion and looked in the rearview and saw the car coming at 50-60 mph and not slowing down. She was maybe only 100ft away and closing fast. I dumped the clutch and floored it getting a REALLY good hook up with no tire spin. Lynol said it looked like the wheels were glued to the ground and the car launched really well. I got about 10 ft when she hit me.

I figured I got up to at least 10 mph by impact. That and the fact my body was already slammed back into the seat from the launch I truly believe saved me from serious injury....

Currently negotiating my settlement for the car payout (I will keep the wreck and part it out). Frame bent badly, body completely twisted. Really happy I wasn't in a smaller car.

amazingly you can still drive it with it's ass dragging on the ground. There is about 1/4" of clearance in the wheel well.

It's sad as I was about 90% finished after all these nights and weekends.....

Nice, I just noticed the bottle of OE800. Must have been the open container she got a ticket for. Also driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.

The RMW is the last car on the list. Check the value. You may be able to use it to negotiate a fair settlement.

I hope they throw the book at her. If she has insurance it will not cover her, because she was driving illegally in more than one category.
