| ok so I replaced the hi/lo dimmer switch a second time, this time with AC Delco parts and a month later it's doing it again, although if I play with flipping the switch back and forth sometimes the low beams will start working again.
At this point, my thought is it is something besides the switch as the chances of two of them being bad is about zero or damn close to it....
ANy ideas?

| The switch mounts are slotted, make sure the rod is engaging the switching mechanism properly, and snug the nuts down. Inspect the wiring on the connector for charring, replace if needed. Then, consider running a relay setup to get the load off those small gauge wires. | |

| Switch alignment is good and the rod is well seated (see a different thread for that story), the switch actuates properly, connectors on the wire side look good, contacts are clean.....it is just maddening. Saturday night, I got in and they didn't work....several times on the 20 mile ride home, I tried going back to low beams and they would go off. One block from home (after blinding 20 miles of drivers with the high beams) I did it one last time at a stop sign and boom, there they were.... | |

| Could it be in the wiring under the hood? | |

at this point I'm thinking possible bad ground on the low beams or something like that. Gotta get the FSM out and track down the grounding points first and start eliminating the easy stuff . It's just so darn mosquito riddled out by the time I get home from work.....

| Grounds are on the core support.
There are some "personal" mosquito repellant units that can be clipped on your belt, and they are not all that expensive. The local outdoor shop may have some propane heated mosquito repellant systems that will clear a 10 foot radius. They run for about 4 hours on one propane cylinder and a repellant refill.

| Grounds all checked out. Drove it the last two nights. Upon cold star no low beams but after about 20-25 minutes the low beams work. Prior to that when Iswitch to them the marker lights stay lit but no low beams. Hi beams work all the time. Do the different beams have a ballast? It's really strangers as after they come on, they don't go off until I stop or turn them off.....

| No ballast. Do you have TS? If so that module may be your issue. You might have a wire loose in a pin on a connector. It would be on some part that is common to both lights. | |

| Yeah it does have TS. I will try a different one as I have spares and check the wiring over there.....I didn't think about it as it seems to turn on the markers okay...

| So um, where is the Twilight Sentinel box on a Fleetwood? Not on the passenger side kick panel like a Buick LT1 car. Did they leave it over the steering column like a TBI car? The FSM doesn't show where it is either that I could find... | |

| The twilight sentinel goes through the central control module. Your switch activates the circuit and the delay also goes to the central control module. Sounds like fun to me. | |
