| I don't think my 91 Caprice has an indicator light to show when the cruise control is engaged. I see no place in the dash and no mention of it in the owners manual. Odd. I believe it is the first vehicle I've ever owned with no indicator. No problem, just seems strange. | |

| That is correct, The Caprice did not get a Cruise control indicator. My 1995 Caprice wagon does not have it. Originally made me think something was wrong. The Buick Roadmaster and Cadillac Fleetwoods do have an indicator. Not 100% sure about the pre-1994 or OCC's as I have not owned one.

| I believe my OCC has an indicator. I don't really use cruise much. My 92 Caprice does not have it, and either does the TBI 9C1 tach cluster. | |

| Although I have only driven my Caprice to work 3 days so far I will be using the cruise control every day. | |

| That's kinda stupid to have cruise control and not put a light in for it. Not like its really needed, but I'd still like to know whats going on with the car | |

| Welcome to GM. Where things don't make sense but you drive the car anyway. Besides, if you are paying attention while driving you'll know when the cruise control disengages itself. Usually after hitting a bump on the highway. | |

| I found out about a GM bulletin about cruise control from 1992. Subject : Intermittent or no cruise control operation ( replace chmsl bulb, add resistor on wagons ) Condition: The cruise control may be inop Cause: The ground for the brake switch signal to the cruise control module (part of the stepper motor assy) goes thru the center high mounted stop lamp. If the bulb is burned out, there will be no ground path for the cruise control. On wagons the contacts on the tailgate glass may corrode, causing intermittent operation. Correction: On wagons- locate the blue 8 way connector, behind the LH rear quarter trim. Find the yellow wire in cavity A and the black wire in cavity F Splice a 390 ohm, 2 watt, 5 percent resistor between the yellow wire and the black wire. This is what GM did. Do so at your own risk, I will not be responsible for any results. | |

| If you want ALL the factory do-dads, gee-gaws, idiot lights, and options available in a B body wagon, you have to buy the Buick. I too noticed the instrument cluster didn't have a cruise activated light as does my Roadmaster. Just one of MANY accessories (and "upper crust" standard equipment items) the Chevy doesn't have available. | |

| Really? You want another idiot light when you can just look at the switch to see if it is on? A light would make sense if these cars had a button for the cruise control that didn't look any different when it is on than when it is off. I drive cars through an auction 3 days a week and all the little indicator lights for every little thing just don't make sense, they are a huge distraction to me, lights mean something is wrong in my mind. | |

My first car at the ripe old age of 18, was a 6 year old 1967 Buick Riviera. When the factory cruise was on, a rectangular green light illuminated the word "cruise" on the dash. Ah, the good OLD days indeed!

| I've owned an '89, '92, two '94s, a '95 and a 2000 gm vehicles and none of them had a cruise indicator. My 2002, 2008, 2009, 2013 and '15 all had/have them though. | |

| I hate lights on the dash. I'm glad there is none on my Caprice. If I don't know the cruise is on without a light, then I don't belong driving!
My wifes car has a light for every stupid thing, the fog lights, the cruise, and a bunch of other stupid things and its annoying as heck. Everytime I look at the dash I think we have trouble lights on. Plus I need sunglasses to drive at night because those idiot lights are so bright they blind me.

The only useful ones are on my newer vehicles they show what you had the cruise set to before it was last cancelled so that you know what speed it will go to if you hit resume. Other than that, I know when I have the cruise set but it seems more useful now with drive by wire since cruise control does not actually move the pedal so after you engage cruise you don't actually KNOW it is engaged until you can determine the vehicle is holding speed.

| The Olds does not have a cruise light, neither does my 07 Chevy nor did my 94 S10 (cruise control with a manual, oooooo) but that's okay, I can tell when its working. | |

| Heck, my Caprice wagon ,which is a base model, doesn't even have a glove compartment light, just a round black filler plug where it should be. Really?! | |

| My dads 92 Caprice wagon used to get corroded around the rear hatch latch and that would make the cruise not work. The dealer had to clean it up a few times. | |
